A solvent free, self levelling epoxy mortar floor coating system for heavy duty floor protection.
Self Levelling Mortar Compound System 5400 is a solvent free, self-levelling epoxy mortar floor coating system resistant to high humidity and moisture, spillage of chemicals, heavy abrasion, impact and heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic. It can be applied on horizontal floors with a maximum incline of 3 mm per metre. (DIN 18 202, Table 3, Column 4). The compression strength of the concrete should be minimum 25 N/mm², the tensile strength minimum 1.5 N/mm. If desired it can be recoated within one week - in this case cleaning of the surface with Rust-Oleum Thinner 190 or sanding is necessary.
New concrete to cure and dry for at least 30 days prior to the application of the preparation product.
Remove oil, grease and all other surface contaminations by alkaline or high pressure (steam) cleaning. Concrete curing compounds to be removed completely. All laitance, loose or unsound concrete should be removed by vacuum-blasting or etching with Rust-Oleum Surfa-Etch 108. Large surfaces to be prepared by abrasive blasting (vacuum blasting) or flame cleaning. If this is not possible scabbling or roughening of the surface is necessary - profile maximum: 0.5 mm.
Defects in the concrete to be repaired with Rust-Oleum Concrete Repair Mortar 5403 or Epoxy Putty 5412. Previously coated surfaces to be in sound condition. The surface to be clean and dry during application.

The mixed material is poured onto the cleaned floor and spread it out evenly with a rake or trowel. Then the surface is treated with a de-aeration roller to release entrapped air and to promote the self levelling effect.
