SECURAHinge

The full length continuous SECURAHinge can be used on new or existing doors and is applied so as to conceal both leaves. Unlike conventional hinges, it not have a pin. It consists of two full height, paired and geared leaves. Each geared leaf rotates evenly from top to bottom riding on Delrin-Teflon bearings. These softened bearings greatly reduce the ligature between the bearing and hinge leaves, which minimizes potential self-harm in the open state (i.e. when rubbing wrist against hinge). It features an anti-ligature tip which greatly minimizes the potential gap in open and closed positions and ensures no gap behind the bearing. The design features of the tip improve safety, making it ideal for use in a wide variety of situations in healthcare, psychiatric and secure accommodation environments where self-harm is a risk.

• Fire tested to BS 476-20 and -22 for 30 and 60 minutes.

• Opens 180° in one direction, allowing door to fold back.

• Tested to DHF TS 001: B4 (0.5 mm wire test).

• Grade 1 abuse tested.

• Meets and exceeds BS EN 1935 (life cycle tested to 250 000 cycles).

• Standard duty – for use on doors up to 125 kg in weight.
