Description

A laminate of Rockwool insulation bonded to tapered edge plasterboard, designed principally as a dry lining material to achieve and improve upon the statutory requirements for acoustic and thermal insulation for new build and refurbishment projects. Rockwool Rockliner provides a cost effective and fire safe means of achieving excellent levels of thermal insulation coupled with good acoustic insulation.

Boards can be fixed with adhesive dabs or nailable plugs.

Rockwool charcteristics:

  • Non-combustible, water repellent, rot proof stonel wool material offering excellent thermal, acoustic and fire protection insulation.
  • Rockwool insulation products do not contain blowing agents with an ozone depletion potential (ODP) or global warming potential (GWP), are CFC-HCFC-HFC free and 97% recyclable. They will not react with metal components or cause loss of plasticiser from PVC cables and pipes.
  • Will not transmit water, due to the presence of water repellent additives. However, the product should not be used as protection against driving rain penetration; any external wall to which Rockliner is to be applied must resist moisture penetration.

Fixing methods:

  • Adhesive dabs: Each board is primed with three 200 mm wide bands of bonding adhesive. Pre-treatment may be necessary on some substrates to improve adhesion. Three rows of adhesive dabs are applied to the wall for each 900 mm wide board.
  • Mechanical fixing: On a true and level wall Rockliner can be fixed using nailable plugs. Plugs should be installed 50 mm from board edges, at 600 mm centres.
