Rapid Porcelain And Stone Tile Adhesive

Rapid Porcelain and Stone Tile Adhesive is a white, cement based thin bed adhesive designed for fixing fully vitrified porcelain, ceramic and natural stone tiles to a variety of substrates. The adhesive is water and weather resistant a, suitable for internal and external applications with a three hour setting time. Rapid Porcelain and Stone Tile Adhesive contains Rock-Tite polymeric binders, the enhanced flexibility of the adhesive allows a greater range of fixing possibilities. The adhesive has excellent thermal ageing properties and is particularly suitable for heated floors and prepared plywood sheets.

Performance:

Conforms to classification BS EN 12004 C2F.

Application:

- Anhydrite and Hemihydrite (Gypsum) screeds:

These must be cured to the respective manufacturer's recommendations before tiling commences. Surfaces to be free of laitance and sealed with two coats of Norcros Prime Bond.

- Asphalt (internal only):

Flooring grade asphalt can be tiled directly.

- Cement/ Sand Render:

Must be at least 14 days old.

- Concrete and screeds:

New concrete must be allowed to dry for a minimum of six weeks, residual traces of laitance and curing agents should be mechanically removed before tiling commences. Screeds should be a minimum 21 days old.

- Glazed surfaces:

These must be well fixed and able to support additional tile weight. Old glazed surfaces must be thoroughly degreased. A slurry bonding coat of one-part Prime Bond to two-parts Rapid Porcelain and Stone Tile Adhesive should be brushed onto the surface and allowed to dry, providing a key for the adhesive.

- Heated floors (dense construction):

Heating must not be switched on for a minimum 14 days after tiling. Norcros Universal Leveller can be used to provide protection to heating pipes.

- Plywood overlay (WBP):

Sheets must be sealed on the back, face and edges with Prime Bond.

- Thermoplastic Floor Tiles/ Vinyl sheet:

If the existing flooring is in good condition, degrease and seal with neat Norcros Prime Bond.
