Description

Powdertech Wood Finish (PWF™) was formulated by Powdertech to match the natural variations in colour, grain density and grain pattern of wood. Some of the finishes also have texture. Wood has an instinctive appeal as a building material, associated with the natural world and its warmth and texture.

Can be applied to most metallic substrates including aluminium, galvanized steel, cast metals and stainless steel.

Can be cut and drilled for fabrication.
There are 35 standard colours in smooth or texture finishes.

Resistance to boiling water, no blistering and no loss of adhesion.
Cylindrical mandrel bending, tested to ISO 1519, 5 mm mandrel, no cracking or detachment.

Powder formulation	Durable.

Gloss level	20—70%. At 60ᵒ.
Film thickness	>60 µm.
Adhesion	Rating 0. Dry adhesion cross hatch (ISO 2409) Rating 0, no coating detachment, wet adhesion (ISO 2409) after 1 hour pressure cooker rating 0, no detachment.
Accelerated weathering	1000 hours no significant change in colour, >50% retained gloss. To ISO 16474-2:2013.
Sulphur dioxide resistance	24 cycles no infiltration. Exceeding 1 mm from the scribe, no change in colour or blistering in excess of 2(S2) to ISO 4628-2.
Constant humidity resistance	1000 hours. To ISO 6272-2, <1mm scribe creep. No blistering in excess of 2(S2) to ISO 4628-2.
Impact resistance	No cracking or detachment. Tested to ISO 6272-2, reverse Impact test.
Erichsen cupping	No cracking or detachment. Tested to ISO 1520, minimum 5 mm indent.
Permeability	No blistering or coating detachment.
Scratch resistance	E2 Pass. To BS 3900.
Pre-treatment	Aluminium: Titanium-zirconium (TiZr) non-chrome six-stage pre-treatment. Galvanized steel: Silane (oxsilan) non-chrome eight-stage pre-treatment. Not required/ other. Consult manufacturer for details for surfaces other than aluminium or galvanized steel.
Application method	Corona discharge system. Powder application.
Fire rating (to BS EN 13501)	A2-s1, d0.
