A multi-purpose synthetic SBR polymer primer and bond coat.
- Primer/ Dust proofer:
Apply Prime Bond diluted 1:4 with water and apply one coat. On porous surfaces a subsequent coat will be required, applied at right angles to the first coat.
Prime Bond is a multi-purpose water-based synthetic SBR polymer, the material is water and weather resistant and is suitable for internal and external use on a wide range of substrates as a primer, sealer, dust proofer, slurry bonding coat and admixture in screeds and renders.
Application:
- Primer/ Dust proofer:
Apply Prime Bond diluted 1:4 with water and apply one coat. On porous surfaces a subsequent coat will be required, applied at right angles to the first coat.
- Anhydrite Calcium sulphate floor screeds:
Apply Prime Bond diluted 1:4 with water and allow to dry. Apply a second coat at right angles to the first coat with Prime Bond diluted 1:3 with water. If the screed is still porous apply a third coat of Prime Bond diluted 1:2 with water.
- Gypsum plaster:
When tiles are to be fixed using a cementitious adhesive, plaster must be sealed with two-coats of Prime Bond diluted 1:4 with water.
- Timber sheets:
Tongue and groove floorboards should be primed with a neat coat of Prime Bond. The underside and edges of exterior grade plywood and flooring grade chipboard require sealing with neat Prime Bond.
- Hard vinyl floor coverings:
Degrease floor covering and apply a neat coat of Prime Bond prior to fixing tiles.
- Slurry/ Bonding coat:
Made up of one part Norcros cement based adhesive to one part Norcros Prime Bond. The slurry bonding coat will improve the adhesion of tile adhesives and levelling compounds to impervious backgrounds such as existing glazed ceramic tiles and terrazzo.
