Description

Steel doors provide a higher level of fire protection when compared with other door materials such as timber, UPVC, aluminium or GRP. Powershield Doors have been extensively tested to both British and European standards to a variety of configurations, sizes and specifications. Our range of fire doors has been successfully certified by Exova Warringtonfire in accordance with Certifire.

Powershield Certifire approved doorsets feature SMARTform Technology and offer excellent fire resistance performance.

Standard product features

Door leaf:

  • Manufactured using two skins of 1.2 mm thick galvaneal steel, 44 mm thick door leaft with no face seams.
  • Doors stiffened, insulated and sound deadened with pre-expanded, small cell honeycomb core material and laminated under pressure to the face skins.
  • 1.6 mm steel end channels projection welded to the top and bottom of the door.
  • Face skins are connected by a contunous 'deep pocket' interlocking edge lock seam for added strength and durability.
  • Door edges are bevelled and doors are morticed, reinforced, drilled and tapped for three templated hinges.
  • Double doors incorporate an integral astagal to ensure a totally sealed unit.

Door frame:

  • Manufactured from 1.5 mm galvaneal steel to BS 1245 with double or single rebate profile. Mitre welded fully smooth finish.
  • Frames are morticed ,reinforced and have integral reinforcement for solid and easy bolting of jambs and head.
  • Complete with hinge and strike reinforcements protected via metal guard boxes.
  • Four fixings (minimum) per jamb, built-in adjustment and flush steel cover caps.

  • Double action doors: 60 minutes (maximum) fire integrity only. Size: 2.6 x 2.6 m (maximum).
  • Single action doors: 240 minutes (maximum) fire integrity only. Size: 3 x 3 m (maximum).
  • Sliding doors: 90 minutes (maximum) fire integrity only. Size: 2.6 x 2.6 m (maximum).
