Application

Suitable for use with:

  • Plastics including unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U), cholorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), styrene-acrylonitrile resin (SAN), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), low-density polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP).
  • Flexible and rigid walls of 100 mm minimum thickness.
  • Rigid floors with 150 mm minimum thickness.
  • Pipes to a maximum diameter of 250 mm for internal and external applications.
  • Can be used within the Stopseal® Batt system.

Description

Pipe collars designed and tested to seal service penetration apertures which contain plastic and metallic pipes, both with and without insulation or cables. Used to form a seal and to reinstate the fire resistance performance of wall and floor constructions.

Features and benefits:

  • Provides a high volume expansion and pressure seal in the event of a fire.
  • Can be installed into tight locations due to a thin profile of 30–40 mm.
  • Includes an intumescent component, which has been incorporated into a mild steel case to close any gaps and to provide a closure of combustible pipes when heated to prevent the passage of fire.
  • Supplied in an assembled form.
  • Allows thermal and mechanical movement of the pipe.
  • Halogen free, and contains no asbestos or ceramic.
  • Environmentally friendly.
  • Ease of fixing to suit location – five fixing types are available.
  • Not affected by fungus, vermin, rodents or moisture.
  • Conditioned to Type X: -20°C to 70°C in accordance with EOTR 024 and ETAG 026.
  • CE marked.

Fire resistance (to EN 1366-3):

  • Walls: EI 120 (on each side).
  • Floors: EI 240 (on the underside).

Reaction to fire (EN 13051-1):

Class E.

Technical characteristics:

  • Expansion rate (to EOTA TR 024): 20:1.
  • Expansion pressure (to EOTA TR 024): 1.30 N/mm².
  • Working temperature: -20°C to 120°C.
  • Service and durability: Class X, intended for use in conditions exposed to weathering in accordance with EOTA technical documents TR024.

Fixing:

  • For rigid walls and floors: Three 35 mm tap-in fixings.
  • For rigid floors: Three 60 x 6 mm expanding anchors.
  • For flexible walls: Three 65 mm spider fixings.
  • For rigid walls: Three 70 mm wood screws.
  • For batt installation: Three 80 mm pig tails.
