Can be used as a temporary and permanent firestopping system where steel trunking and cable trays penetrate a masonry, concrete or block fire resisting wall. It can also be used in larger apertures within fire resisting rigid walls.

Description

Intumescent pillow which expands under fire conditions to form a robust seal around service penetrations. It is located centrally within the wall construction and held in place by its own weight and induced friction. Available in a range of sizes.

  • Suitable for use within steel trunking and cable trays installed in block, masonry or concrete walls.

Standard product features

Material:

High temperature resistant fabric formed into a pillow, which contains a combination of components including an intumescent material.

Fire rating (to BS 476-20 and BS EN 1366-3):

Up to four hours (240 minutes) dependent on aperture size, consult manufacturer's literature for more information.

Approved cables:

  • Multi-core ‘power’ cables including copper conductors and sheathed with polyvinyl chloride (PVC), with or without steel wire armour. 25 mm maximum outside diameter.
  • Multi core signal cables, sheathed with polyvinyl chloride (PVC), 11 mm maximum outside diameter.
  • Cat5E or Cat 5 communication cables, 6 mm nominal outside diameter.
  • Fibre optic cables, 6 mm nominal outside diameter.
