Permate
Description

Permate:

An edge reinforced laminate of a specially modified asphalt supported with twin layers of reinforcing kraft paper.

  • Moisture vapour transmission rate (ASTM E-96, Procedure A): 30.0 ng/Pa.s.m² (0.50 Perms).
  • Tensile strength: 1050 kg/m.
  • Shrinkage: Negligible.
  • Flexibility at -12°C: Excellent.
  • Weight (per 100 m²): 16.5 kg.

Permate Ultra:

Similar to the standard Permate except an additional, highly impermeable film of aluminium foil is sandwiched between the twin layers of asphalt and kraft. The asphalt-kraft skin reinforces the foil and protects it from nicks and scratches during application.

  • Moisture vapour transmission rate (ASTM E-96, Procedure A): 2.4 ng/Pa.s.m² (0.04 Perms).
  • Tensile strength: 1050 kg/m.
  • Shrinkage: Negligible.
  • Flexibility at -12°C: Excellent.
  • Weight (per 100 m²): 16.6 kg.

Features:

  • Superior insulation protection: Insulation retains its full insulating value and will not be subject to moisture induced rot or warping.
  • Fire resistance: Permate vapour retarders limit combustibles and reduce flame spread in a roofing system.
  • Tear and puncture resistant: Vapour retarder edges are reinforced with glass fibre strands to help prevent tears during application. In Permate Ultra, the twin layers of asphalt bonded kraft protect the aluminium foil from nicks and scratches during application.
  • Compatibility with virtually all types of roofing systems. They are not affected by contact with either asphalt or single-ply system adhesives.
  • Wide rolls for rapid, cost efficient installation.
  • Proven performance, protecting thousands of buildings across North America and Europe for over twenty-five years.
  • F.M. & U.L.C. approved.
