Application

Can be used to bed natural stone paving and cobbles, flags, block paving, concrete paving and other high traffic paving surfaces within commercial, industrial and residential areas.

Should be mixed using a mechanical mixer such as a forced-action high shear mixer or a belle type mixer.

Due to the rapid setting, only ever mix a quantity of material that can be used and placed within the working time.

Description

High strength bedding concrete, designed to exceed the requirements of BS 7533.

Features and benefits:

  • Provides high early and final bed strength.
  • Can receive foot traffic after 12 hours and vehicle traffic after 24 hours.
  • Does not suffer from the effects of environmental erosion, and is resistant to cracking and settlement movement.
  • High durability.
  • Can be laid from 10–100 mm within a single pass (if thicker sections are required, this can be achieved using the layer-on-layer method).
  • Single component compound which is easy to use.
  • Helps to compensate for shrinkage.

  • Workability: 50 minutes.
  • Density: 2000–2200 kg/m³.
  • Yield (per 25 kg): 13 L.
  • Bond strength (after 28 days, with slurry primer): 2 N/mm².
  • Compressive strength: After 1 day: 20 N/mm²; after 7 days: 39 N/mm²; after 28 days: 52 N/mm².
  • Flexural strength: After 1 day: 3.5 N/mm²; after 7 days: 6 N/mm²; after 28 days: 6.5 N/mm².
