Application

  • Suitable for use in protected/ inverted roofs, plaza and terrace decks and green roof installations.
  • Designed for concrete substrates, it provides an optimum waterproofing solution, where large roof areas can be covered very quickly permitting the progression of other trades internally.
  • On green roofs the system is suitable with intensive lawn and planted roof gardens; extensive sedum, wildflower and biodiverse roofs.
  • Hydrocarbon solvent based products, such as Naphtha, paraffin and creosote will have a harmful effect and should not be allowed to come into contact with the material.

Description

A hot applied tough and very flexible monolithic waterproofing membrane system manufactured from a special blend of bitumen, synthetic rubbers, polymers and other additives which, when combined with a spun-bond polyester fabric and high-performance elastomeric membrane is suitable for use in protected/ inverted roofs, plaza decks and green roof installations.

The PARABIT SOLO System is heated and then applied as a liquid directly to the prepared structural deck. It forms a full continuous bond to the substrate which means that there is no risk of water tracking beneath the membrane, and because it is monolithic and completely seamless there is no risk of lap failure.

* On green roof projects the equivalent Rootbar membrane is used instead.

Consult technical literature for further details. For Inverted roofs the Thermazone Hydroshield IVR board and Monarperm TP160 Water Reducing Layer is available. Suitable ballasting is required to restrain the inverted roof insulation board, available separately, Alternately, on green roof drainage boards, fleece, planting substrates and vegetation layers would cover the system.

The external fire performance of a roof is dominated by the built-up roof system. No performance can be assessed for the product alone. Thermaweld Mineral has been tested as part of a system to BS 476-3 and achieved EXT.F.AB (national class) rating.
