Description

Facade consisting of steel insulating sandwich panels with a glass facing. GSP® is an opaque building element with a glass surface, suitable for a wide variety of applications. It can be combined with other systems and modified frame sections can be used to integrate all conventional window and facade systems.

GSP® is a wall, insulation, surface and self-supporting element all in one. The glass sandwich facade system ensures warm transitions between openings and opaque components. There are no complex transitions within the facade, and the application of external thermal insulation composite systems afterwards is unnecessary.

The window and door frames, or supporting mullion/ transom systems, are concealed behind strategically applied prints on the glass. Wind loads are transferred from the glass to the loadbearing sandwich panel via the adhesive. Characteristic lettering, logos or other corporate design elements can also be applied to the building envelope.

Features and benefits:

  • Fast and efficient installation.
  • Suitable for a wide range of building facades.
  • Thermal transmittance (U-value) matching that of Passive house standards - 0.13 Wm²K.
  • Concealed fixings.

Applications:

Suitable for a wide variety of applications including offices, retail, industrial and public buildings.

Product Options

Product reference:

- Ostman Brucha GSP Panel System – Horizontal:

Installing the panels horizontally helps to incorporate rows of windows. The GSP® elements require a beam at each end for fixing. When using the maximum length of 16 m, intermediate fixings are required, their maximum distance is 6 m. Facades with rows of windows must be designed considering the GSP® widths. The inclusion of flush-fitting sun blinds is efficiently accommodated with horizontal panels.

- Ostman Brucha GSP Panel System – Mullion/ Transom:

A structure with loadbearing mullion/ transom can have large openings but also whole elevations closed off. This arrangement is generally used where large construction heights and wide transparent areas are required. Infill elements or opaque areas can be easily combined with each other. Large entrance and foyer areas can be built as mullion/ transom facades, while shopping and storage areas can remain opaque and the printed surfaces can serve as a means of communication. Suitable for applications in the retail sector.

- Ostman Brucha GSP Panel System – Vertical:

The vertical arrangement offers maximum flexibility when combining transparent and opaque areas. When mounting the panels vertically, the supporting framework for the GSP® is positioned on the floors. GSP® can span vertically from floor to floor, or, with a maximum length of 16 m, it can span over several floors, with fewer joints. Large openings or mullion/ transom facades may be easily incorporated within this vertically oriented installation.

Design:

The glazing can be shortened on a panel or overhanging to create a homogenous glass surface without the need for a fascia panel. Several panes of glass can also be applied to one sandwich panel. GSP ® can let light into a building by incorporating openings; the glass surface continues uninterrupted across the opening, and the cut-out in the sandwich panel is filled with insulated glass.

GSP® multilam panels are available, creating an iridescent look of the facade by scaled glass lamellas. Two or three glass lamellas are applied on a GSP® with system size of 1 m with inclination. A spacer allows a maximum distance of 13 mm and silicone is applied conically.

CSP® Composite Sandwich Panels can also be integrated, with stone or fibreboard coating available. They are particularly suitable for plinths and spandrel panels.

Glazing printing:

Ceramic inks form the basis for the very hardwearing printing on the glass. In a firing process at a temperature of 600°C, the ceramic particles are permanently bonded to the glass to create a weather-resistant, scratchproof, non-fading surface.

Roller-coater printing is the cost-effective method for applying single-colour, full-coverage, opaque ink finishes. Digital printing is suitable for complex, multicolour motifs (vector-based or photorealistic) and colour gradations. Screen printing is available for repetitive motifs and pane sizes of up to 6 m.
