Stabilizing grid for granular sub-base in permeable paving systems.
A stabilizing grid for the aggregate sub-base in Marshalls Priora permeable paving system, which works by confining individual elements of the 20 mm Priora Aggregate, which in turn stabilises the structure beneath the paved surface. MG15 Grid can compensate for uneven site conditions, such as weak spots in the subgrade, and provides a consistent base on which to build a pavement.
Marshalls MG15 Grid has the effect of improving the CBR (California Bearing Ratio) of a sub grade by 1%. On subgrades with a CBR of 1–4%, this can result in a series of benefits:
Grid apertures are the ideal size for confining particles of 20 mm Priora Aggregate
The rectangular profile of the ribs generate efficient interlock with the broken faces of 20 mm Priora Aggregate
The superior junction efficiency provides more robust performance in Priora’s already rationalised designs
The triangular shape of the apertures allows the grid to be laid in any orientation and allows the pavement to be trafficked in any direction
