DriTherm® Cavity Slab 34 is a water-repellent glass mineral wool slab, designed for use in external full-fill masonry cavity walls, that offers excellent thermal performance.

Application

  • Designed for the thermal insulation of masonry cavity external walls and are installed to fully fill the cavity.
  • Approved for use in buildings up to 12 m high in any exposure zone and for use in multi-storey applications up to 25 m in height.

Description

DriTherm® Cavity Slab 34 is a water-repellent glass mineral wool slab, designed for use in external full-fill masonry cavity walls, that offers excellent thermal performance.


It is non-combustible with the best possible Euroclass A1 reaction to fire classification and is manufactured using Knauf Insulation's bio-based binder, ECOSE® Technology.


Features and benefits:

  • Cavity barriers are not required with non-combustible full-fill insulation, minimising the risk of fire spreading through a cavity.
  • Water repellent and BBA certified for use in all exposure zones, including those in very severe areas.
  • Slabs are sized to fit between wall ties without the need for retaining discs.

Durability:

DriTherm® Cavity Slabs are odourless, rot proof, non-hygroscopic, do not sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi, mould or bacteria.


Standards and certification:

DriTherm® Cavity Slabs are manufactured in accordance with BS EN 13162, ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems, ISO 14001.


Environmental:

Management Systems, and ISO 9001 Quality Management systems, as certified by TÜV Nord. All Knauf glass mineral wool products have been awarded the Declare `Red List Free’ label. This allows product transparency disclosure that identifies where a product comes from, what it’s made of and where it goes at the end of its life. Having the ‘Red List Free’ label means that there are no ingredients in the product that are on the red list - including formaldehyde or phenol.


Environmental:

DriTherm® Cavity Slabs contain no ozone-depleting substances or greenhouse gases. For further environmental information consult the relevant Environmental Product Declaration, available on the Knauf website.


Moisture resistance:

Tests by the British Board of Agrément confirm that DriTherm® Cavity Slabs will not transmit water to the inner leaf. Nor will they transmit moisture by capillary action across the cavity or from below damp proof course level.


Real performance:

Glass and rock mineral wool are easier to install correctly than other insulants such as rigid boards because they adapt to any slight imperfections in the substrate and knit together, eliminating any air gaps. Evidence shows the absence of air gaps is crucial to achieving real performance in the relevant application.


Handling and storage:

DriTherm® Cavity Slabs are easy to handle and install, being lightweight and easily cut to size, where necessary. They are supplied in polythene packs (4 LDPE) which are designed for short term protection only. For longer term protection on site, the product should either be stored indoors, or under cover and off the ground. DriTherm® Cavity Slabs should not be left permanently exposed to the elements.
