An intumescent pressure exerting mastic used to fire seal combustible pipework up to 90 mm diameter and for sealing around cable trays, cables and within cast in plastic or steel conduits or around Insulation whilst providing up to two hours fire protection.

Description

An aqueous acrylic fire barrier mastic for internal use, containing inert fillers and graphite. Suitable for up to diameter 125 mm combustible pipe seals, up to 60 mm insulation wall thickness, 60 mm annular space around cables or large preformed slots in walls floors forming cable tray/ basket openings.

Features and benefits:

  • Tested at Exova BM Trada to BS EN 1366-3.
  • Fully tested for up to 240 minutes' integrity and insulation.
  • Low smoke and non-hazardous.
  • Tested within single skin partitions.
  • For use in both walls and floor.
  • Will expand 52 times by volume.
  • Reaction commences at 130°C.

Up to four hours' integrity and insulation.

Coverage:

  • 10 mm wide seal: 3.25 m (approximate).
  • 15 mm wide seal: 1.35 m (approximate).
  • 20 mm wide seal: 0.78 m (approximate).

Tack free time:

60–120 minutes depending on temperature/ humidity.

Typical applied depths:

  • Within openings 150% of combustible pipe/ conduit size: 25 mm.
  • Within Firetherm Intubatt: 25–50 mm.
  • Within plasterboard annular spaces: 25 mm.
  • Within conduits: 30 mm.
  • Around all insulation types, up to 50 mm wall thickness: 10–25 mm.
