Application

Suitable for use in conversion and refurbishment projects where the separating floor/ceiling structure features timber joists, and it incorporates lath and plaster ceilings.


The HD1032 system cane be used in domestic applications including dwelling houses, as well as numerous commercial and public buildings such as offices, schools and healthcare environments.

Description

The Hush HD1032 Acoustic System provides a solution where dependable sound insulation is required in the timber joist separating floors/ceilings of material change of use projects. It is designed for refurbishment/conversion projects with timber structures that incorporate lath and plaster ceilings.


The HD1032 Acoustic Floor and Ceiling System LP/MF is created using Hush Acoustics' high quality sound insulation materials applied as follows:


  • Lay Hush Panel 28 over existing floorboards or 18mm/22mm chipboard/plywood with all tongue and groove joints glued using the Hush Bond Panel Adhesive.
  • Seal all perimeters of the Hush Panel using Hush Seal 20 Perimeter Strip.
  • The existing lath and plaster ceiling can be left intact and made good if needed.
  • Install the Hush MF ceiling the underside of the lath and plaster ceiling construction, ensuring the Hush Acoustic Hangers are used and secured tightly to the existing joists.
  • A 150mm void is created from the underside of the lath and plaster ceiling to the back of the plasterboard lining for Hush Slab 100 Sound Absorbers to be tightly fitted within the ceiling void.
  • Attach two layers of 15mm Gyproc Soundbloc to the underside of the Hush MF ceiling

  • Existing floorboards or 18/ 22 mm thick particleboard/ plywood – supplied by others.
  • Hush Seal 20 – to seal perimeters.
  • Existing timber joists.
  • Existing lath and plaster ceiling.
  • Hush MF Ceiling System – installed to the underside of the lath and plaster ceiling construction.
  • Hush Slab 100 – fitted tightly together within the ceiling void.
  • Two layers of 15 mm thick Gyproc Soundbloc plasterboard – supplied by others.
