These galvanized steel shutters are very versatile as many features can be added or taken away to suit specifier needs and budget. For example, a shutter can be made from thicker steel, made with extra windlocks, have brush strips and rubber added, powder coated or plastisol coated to a wide variety of RAL colours and much more. Punched (GLV-11PU) and perforated (GLV-11PE) slats can be incorporated as required for full or partial vision.

Guide channels/ bottom slat:
- GLV-11 Spring and Lock Shutter:
Manual – operation by manually grasping handle on bottom slat. Shutter curtain rises under tension to fully open position and remains there; closed by pulling the curtain down against the spring tension. Locking by bottom slat shoot bolts; in addition, bullet locks and housings may be welded onto face of guide channels and inserted into the curtain leaf, thereby further deterring attempts lift the curtain up while in locked position. Manual operation is advised for small pedestrian type doorways and window shutters only.
- GLV-11 Security Shutter:
Electric – single-phase tubular motor or three-phase outboard direct drive motor (dependent on curtain weight) with push button control. Numerous options such as group or remote control available as required. Manual override facility as required. Manual operation is available but not common with the GLV-11; manual operation is advised for window shutters only.
