Description

Industrial, fire-resistant lining system used to line external walls of steel framed buildings. The system is often installed above a 2–3 m high loadbearing block wall, where the wall is 1 metre or more from the relevant boundary (as defined in national building regulations). It can be used in most types of industrial property, including factories, warehouses and industrial units.

The system comprises a framework of lightweight metal 'T' sections which are fixed to the base wall and bracketed back to the external wall cladding steelwork system. The lining boards are Glasroc FlameLine, a Class 0, non-combustible glass fibre reinforced gypsum board.

Where it is not possible to use brick/ block or guard rails at low level (2–3 metres), it is advisable to use Gypframe 'T' sections at 300 mm centres with cross 'T' sections at 600 mm centres.

Performance:

  • Fire resistance: Up to 120 minutes.

Linings :

120 minutes fire resistance is provided by:

  • 10 mm Glasroc FlameLine in the FlameLyner grid, retained by Gypframe GT3 Spring Wedges at 300 mm centres. External steel sheeting 0.55 mm thick.
  • 6 mm Glasroc FlameLine in the FlameLyner grid, retained by Gypframe GT3 Spring Wedges at 300 mm centres. 80 mm stone mineral wool (23 kg/m³) in cavity. External steel sheeting 0.55 mm thick.

Insulation:

Isover modular roll provides thermal insulation, but does not contribute to the fire performance.
