Consult with the manufacturer to ensure the system complies with current regulations BS 5234:1992 non load-bearing screens not protecting a change in adjacent floor level of >380 mm.

For glass load resistance criteria;

• BS 5234 not applied to “all glass partition screens”.
• Nominal line load criteria of “short-term impact load” utilised.
• 0.36 kN/m applied as linear load at 1100 mm above FFL.
• Glass deflection limited to L/65 or 25 mm, whichever is less under load.
• Maximum deflection and stress in accordance with the glass performance requirements of EN 572/ EN 12150/ EN 12543/ EN 14179 (where heat soaked).

Building regulations Part N (BS 6262 & BS EN 12600) + InsStucEng publication “structural use of glass in buildings” insert as required:

• 0.36 kN/m (default load).
• 0.74 kN/m.
• 1.5 kN/m.

BS 6180:2011 barriers in and about buildings for Atria or protected change in adjacent floor level of >380 mm.

Horizontal uniformly distributed line load 1100 mm above FFL (glass deflection limited to L/65 or 25 mm, whichever is less relative to glass fixings).

Structural glass based on line-load and attendant UDL + point load, insert as required:

• 0.74 kN/m.
• 1.5 kN/m.
• 3.0 kN/m.
