Fire and smoke stop blocks.
Manufactured from high density Rockwool stone wool. Used to seal apertures and is permanently held in place by compression. They can also be used within metal cladding as a fire break and to protect the top flange of steel beams which are not connected to concrete floor slabs by stud connectors. No mastics or sealants required.
Fire performance to BS 476-20:
240 minutes (maximum), assessed by Warrington Fire Research Centre.
Sound reduction:
Reduces flanking transmission by 9 dB.
Environmental:
Ozone depletion potential of zero, no CFCs or HCFCs used in manufacture.
