90 minutes.

Stud centres:

Lining fixings:

30 mm Fermacell screws at 400 mm centres and 40 mm Fermacell screws at 250 mm centres.

Best Fermacell gypsum fibreboard contains 100% recycled content. All by-products recyclable.

Other requirements:

Fire stopping around service penetrations. Frame out openings with the same number of layers of board as per above specification. Sockets backed using baffle boxes, intumescent putty pads or suitable rock mineral wool, sufficient to maintain the fire/acoustic performance.

Movement joints are required at maximum 8 linear metre intervals.

Refer to manufacturer's literature. Vapour barrier as required for high humidity areas.

For tiled areas reduce studs to 400 mm centres as required. Tile adhesive to be suitable for gypsum based substrate.

Provide door reinforcement as required to suit door weights and opening size. Ensure no vertical joints at door jambs.

Offset all board joints by minimum 200 mm.

  • Twin 75 mm Fermacell DIN Standard Steel (50 mm fixing face, 0.6 mm gauge) with 35 mm minimum gap between.
  • Twin 100 mm Fermacell DIN Standard Steel (50 mm fixing face, 0.6 mm gauge) with 35 mm minimum gap between.

Insulation (minimum density):

  • 60 mm mineral wool: 30 kg/m³ (between studs on both sides).
  • 80 mm mineral wool: 90 kg/m³ (between studs on both sides).

Partition performance (based on stud type and insulation density/ thickness):

- Twin 75 mm studs, twin 60 mm of 30 kg/m³ insulation, 10 mm + 12.5 mm Fermacell to each side:

  • Height (maximum): 3.13 m.
  • Thickness (overall): From 230 mm.
  • Airborne sound resistance (Rw): 70 dB.

- Twin 75 mm studs, twin 60 mm of 30 kg/m³ insulation, 2 x 12.5 mm Fermacell to each side:

  • Height (maximum): 3.13 m.
  • Thickness (overall): From 235 mm.
  • Airborne sound resistance (Rw): 70 dB.

- Twin 100 mm studs, twin 80 mm of 90 kg/m³ insulation, 10 mm + 12.5 mm Fermacell to each side:

  • Height (maximum): 4.08 m.
  • Thickness (overall): From 280 mm.
  • Airborne sound resistance (Rw): 71 dB.

- Twin 100 mm studs, twin 80 mm of 90 kg/m³ insulation, 2 x 12.5 mm Fermacell to each side:

  • Height (maximum): 4.08 m.
