Description

Forza timber and/ or MDF frame fire screen solutions provide a comprehensive range of standard elevations comprising glazed and door modules providing 30 minute fire resistance performance when adjudged against BS EN 476-22. 30 minute insulation is available dependent on glass specified, as are mullion-free elevations. Forza timber framed glazed screens comply with the structural guidelines recommended in BS EN 5234-2 'Partitions', and BS EN 6180 'Barriers in and about Buildings'.

Standard product features

Liner and bead:

- Solid softwood or hardwood:

  • Minimum density 510 kg/m³.
  • Timber quality and moisture content in accordance with BS EN 942.
  • Perimeter liner and vertical mullions: Minimum depth 79 mm x minimum thickness 32 mm.
  • Door mullion/ frame and transoms: Minimum depth 79 mm x minimum thickness 44 mm.
  • Flush bead: Minimum depth (to suit glass) x minimum thickness 27 mm.

- Veneer wrap MDF:

  • Minimum density 700 kg/m³ edge lipped with 4–9 mm hardwood timber.
  • Moisture content in accordance with BS EN 942.
  • Perimeter liner/ door and vertical mullions/ transoms: Minimum depth 79 mm x minimum thickness 45 mm.
  • Flush bead: Minimum depth (to suit glass) x minimum thickness 27 mm.

Glazing:

Supplied in 7–20 mm thicknesses. Glazing types are available in the following configurations:

  • FD30/0: SA, SB, SC, SD, SE, SF, SK, SG, SH, SI and SJ.
  • FD30/30: SA, SB, SC, SD, SE, SF, SK, SJ, SP, SQ, SL, SM, SN and SO.

Glazed frame seals:

Closed cell (EPDM) foam, 12 x 5 mm or Therm-a-Glaze 30.

Sound insulation:

  • Glass code GFP7: Weighted Sound Reduction Index (Rw) – 34 (0;-3) dB.
  • Glass code GFP13: Weighted Sound Reduction Index (Rw) – 36 (-1;-3) dB.
  • Glass code GFP16/ GFP16MF/ GFP20/ GFP20MF: Weighted Sound Reduction Index (Rw) – 39 (-1;-3) dB.
  • Glass code GFS12: Weighted Sound Reduction Index (Rw) – 34 (-2;-3) dB.
  • Glass code GFSP15: Weighted Sound Reduction Index (Rw) – 38 (-1;-3) dB.

Structural performance:

  • Glass safety rating to BS 6206 (BS EN 12600):
  • Glass code GFP7: Class C (3B3).
  • Glass code GFP13: Class B (2B2).
