Description

Dryvit’s Drysulation is a cost-effective external wall insulation (EWI) system suitable for use on either new construction or refurbishment projects. The system is based on a simple premise – insulation is more effective when placed on the exterior of a building. By bringing insulation to the outside of external walls, this barrier EWI eliminates thermal bridges; reduces air, wind and moisture penetration through the system; stabilizes the interior environment and minimizes thermal shock. Drysulation has been independently certified for use with either standard (white) or high performance low lambda grade (grey) expanded polystyrene (EPS) to meet the thermal needs of all wall and building types. It also has a wide range of finish options to suit architectural and parochial requirements.

Benefits:

  • Design freedom. Drysulation can be installed over a variety of substrates. EPS insulation is lightweight and can be cut or grooved to various shapes and surface patterns.
  • Energy efficiency. Drysulation enables new or existing buildings to meet strict energy efficiency requirements. The option to incorporate high performance low lambda EPS assists in meeting even the most demanding carbon management plan. Heating or cooling costs are demonstrably lower compared to other exterior materials.
  • Weatherability. Dryvit EWI systems are formulated to provide the utmost in weather protection, providing a resilient barrier against the elements.
  • Durability. The combination of system components provides unsurpassed long-term durability meeting design requirements for use in virtually any location.
  • Aesthetics. Dryvit finishes are available in a wide array of textures in both standard and custom colours. Our speciality finishes enable designers to replicate a variety of real stone or brick finishes from limestone to granite at a fraction of the cost.
  • Cost effective. Drysulation is easily adapted to complex project details. Installation is rapid, and routine maintenance is minimal.
  • Testing. Drysulation has ETA certification and independent certification from BBA. Dryvit manufacturing plants are ISO 9001 certified, demonstrating the highest standards of quality and consistency.

Product Options

Pretreatment:

Consult with Dryvit for details of preparation to suit project substrate. Use fungicidal wash by system manufacturer. If required, specify in 'Structural substrate' clause.

Finish:

  • Dash receiver and dash aggregate: Ready to use blend of polymer modified dry powders which only require the addition of potable water to produce a high performance receiver for Dryvit's range of dash aggregates.
  • Drytex: Dry cement based mixtures enriched with synthetic resins which after being mixed with water give a high quality textured finish. Drytex finishes are white with the final fade resistant colour achieved by over-coating with either Demandit or Silstar façade paints.
  • FDPMR: Premixed 100% acrylic finish containing DPR and PMR technology as well as a film forming accelerator for improved resistance to wash off.
  • HDP: Proprietary, silicone based technology textured finish which promotes hydrophobicity enhancing reduced dirt pick up properties.
  • PMRB: Aggregate textured 100% acrylic-based proven mildew (PMR) and dirt pick resistance (DPR) finish.

Brick effect finish or other from speciality finish range are also available, consult with manufacturer for details.

Thermal resistivity values of insulation:

  • Standard (white) EPS: 0.038 W/mK.
  • Low Lambda (grey) EPS: 0.030–0.033 W/mK.
  • Demandit is a 100% acrylic coating which is offered in a variety of standard colours and custom colours. Demandit contains the most effective ingredients available to help resist mould and mildew growth (PMR)
  • Silstar is a façade paint produced on the basis of silicone and acrylic resins. The coat created following the use of Silstar is characterized by a high degree of vapour permeability. It fully protects the surface from atmospheric conditions as well as development of micro-organisms after complete drying and gives the surface a pleasant appearance.

Fire barrier:

Position fire barriers in accordance with Building Control Officers requirements. Barriers to be adhesively fixed with Dryvit Detail Mesh.
