Description

Alumasc offer a range of options for warm roof systems including preparation applications and primers for a range of substrates; vapour control layers; thermal insulation and Derbigum base, intermediate and top layers. Derbigum is a TPO (Thermoplastic polyolefin) modified bitumen roofing membrane which can be installed using a number of techniques, including torching, pour and roll applications, cold applied or mechanically fixed. Derbigum membranes can be applied as a single layer for quick application, or may be applied as the base or cap layers in a built-up high performance roofing system.

Product Options

Substrate primer:

Concrete decks, screeds and metal decks should be primed with Derbiprimer. On plywood decks all board joint should be taped. On close boarded timber decks, a layer of Hi-Ten 125 should be nailed to the deck.

Insulation thickness:

Alumsac Technical Services can advise on the most economical thickness of thermal insulation, depending upon the required U-value.

Alternative methods of attachment:

Derbigum can be installed using five different techniques:

  • Torch applied - fully bonding by torching.
  • 'Rapido' - fully bonded in cold Derbibond with laps and detail work torch bonded.
  • No flame - fully bonded in cold Derbibond with laps and detail work hot air welded.
  • Cold - fully bonded in cold Derbibond with laps and detail work sealed with cold Derbiseal.
  • Mechanically fixed - fastened through insulation layer into the deck, with laps and detail work torch sealed.

Top layer:

Derbigum can be supplied with a flat glass fibre reinforced weathering surface or with a mineral finish which comes in a range of colours.
