Self-supporting stick aluminium curtain wall system composed by a grid of mullions and transoms with a sight line of 52 mm. The glazing is supported using a pressure plate hidden by a cover cap. Facade system certified by CWCT British Standard.

Features and benefits:

  • Curtain wall stick system composed of a grid of mullions and transoms constructed from aluminium alloy 6063 T6.
  • A pressure plate compresses the perimeter of the glazing in its four sides, fixing it to the grid of mullions and transoms. Cover caps hide these pressure plates vertically and horizontally. Different shapes for these cover caps are available (please consult manufacturer for information).
  • Attachment of horizontal and vertical profiles is set through unions performed with transom connectors fitted with dilatation joints.
  • Thermal bridge break is set by stackable isolators constructed from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) which allow the different glazing thickness.
  • Optional internal reinforcement profiles for configurations with high mechanical requirements.
  • Optional complementary elements such as solar protection louvres fixed by brackets may be added to the curtain wall in the exterior.

Standard product features

Aluminium alloy 6063 T6 profiles.

Profile thickness:

  • Mullions: 2.1–3 mm.
  • Transoms: 2.1 mm.

Sight line:

52 mm (mullions and transoms).

Maximum glass unit weight:

750 kg.

Water-tightness is ensured by a set of cuttable joints constructed from ethylene-propylene diene monomer (EPDM), with the possibility of using vulcanized corner cleats in the junction between mullions and transoms, and the use of a butyl strip between the pressure plate and the glazing.

Drainage system:

Composes up to three levels of drainage, allowing the evacuation of potential condensation water from the transoms through the mullion channels to finally drain using deflector blocks (pipettes) as elements of evacuation.

Thermal transmittance:

  • Mullions and transoms (Uf): ≥0.9 W/m²K.
  • Curtain wall (Ucw): ≥0.6 W/m²K.

Performance (based on nine panels, 3 x 3.5 m):

  • Air permeability (to BS EN 12152): Class AE.
  • Water tightness (to BS EN 12154): Class RE1500.
  • Wind resistance (to BS EN 13116): Complies (Design wind load 2000 Pa/ security wind load 3000 Pa).

Product Options

Opening elements:

All opening elements have structurally bonded glass and the water-tightness is ensured by an ethylene-propylene diene monomer (EPDM) joint system. Friction stays are constructed from stainless steel, allowing maximum dimensions of:

  • Hidden parallel projecting: 2000 x 3000 mm (w x h), 200 kg maximum weight.
  • Hidden side hung and turn and tilt: 1400 x 1900 mm (w x h), 100 kg maximum weight.
  • Hidden top hung: 2500 x 2500 mm (w x h), 180 kg maximum weight.

Fixing brackets:

Connection of the curtain wall to the substructure is performed using aluminium fixing brackets. Different configurations are available including bottom fixing brackets, head fixing brackets, fixed and sliding bearing point brackets, etc. Contact manufacturer for more information.
