Description

Through-colour, flame retardant and impact resisting Acrovyn® Sheet can be used to provide protection to doors. Solutions include full or partial height protection using a combination of angles, channels and plates to meet project requirements.

Typical applications:

  • Where there is a need to protect doors in public areas, including health, education and leisure centres, commercial, retail and transport areas, hotel and restaurant kitchens etc.
  • Fully custom formable and easy to cut, Acrovyn® Sheet can be used to provide impact protection to doors.

Impact resistance:

Acrovyn® Sheets have been tested under ASTM D4226-95 Standard Test Methods for Impact Resistance of Rigid Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Building Products.

Fire performance:

  • All Acrovyn® Sheets comply with the requirements for Class 1 surface spread of flame, with a Class 0 designated surface as defined in the Building Regulations and as tested to BS 476 -7.
  • Acrovyn® Sheet has been tested to BS EN ISO 11925-2:2002 and BS EN 13823:2002 and classified according to BS EN 13501-1:2007+A1:2009 as class B-s3, d0.

Chemical, fungal and bacterial resistance:

  • Acrovyn® Sheet is formulated to resist most commonly used chemical solutions.
  • Acrovyn® Sheet does not propagate the growth of bacteria or fungi on a clean surface. However, the anti-microbial properties of the product do not negate the need for a rigorous cleaning regime. Tested to BS EN ISO 846:1997.

VOC emissions testing:

Acrovyn® Sheet has achieved M1 Emission Classification of Building Materials.

Site preparation and fixing:

  • The use of contact adhesive is recommended for installation.
  • Acrovyn® Sheet can be thermoformed on site.

Product Options

Types of protection:

  • Acrovyn® sheet can be applied to the door face in a variety of ways:

- Angles or Channels:

  • Large size (full face) channels or angles to ensure door edges and faces are protected.
  • Full height protection to both sides and edges of door.
  • Partial height protection for one or both sides of door.
  • Door edge channels for recess mounting into door edge/s (square or round edge channels can be supplied).
  • Where plates are required in addition to door edge channels, in order to protect door faces, bevelled edge plates for overlapping the channels on the door faces or square edge plates for butting to channels on rebated door face can be supplied.
  • Channels must be recess mounted into door edge(s).
  • Square or round edge channels can be supplied.
  • Channels and plates can be manufactured to specific height requirements.
  • Note: Due to thickness of sheet, it is recommended that on the push side of the door plates are either fitted between the door stops, or rebated into the door face.
