Description

Coltair is a flexible, high capacity air handling / air conditioning system which is ideal for localized cooling, heating and heat recovery, as well as for general comfort control for industrial applications and retail sheds. Coltair is configured from an extensive range of modular components to suit each installation. Coltair brings fresh outdoor air through the roof or the facade of the building. Internal air can be mixed with this outdoor air or it can be completely re-circulated, or fresh air introduced to the working area below. Where heating is required, the supply air is reheated by an additional heating coil. Where cooling is required, this is normally achieved by combining it with a Colt Coolstream evaporative cooling system.

Features:

  • Decentralised system for localised cooling and heating.
  • Designed for combining with a Colt Coolstream evaporative cooling system to provide cooling.
  • Configured from an extensive range of modular components in three sizes to suit any installation.
  • Can provide supply fresh air as well as extract stale air or fumes. If an optional heat recovery unit is installed, this can lead to high efficiencies.
  • Designed for industrial applications: robust, reliable and durable – principal parts made from aluminium.

Standard product features

Components:

The Coltair system includes standard components, such as ducting and flanges. The number, size and location of these are project specific, therefore consultation with the manufacturer is recommended. Colt can advise on all aspects of the ventilation design.

Material:

Mostly durable aluminium, with minor parts manufactured from galvanized or stainless steel.

Volume flow:

  • Size 05: 1.4 m³/s.
  • Size 07: 2.8 m³/s.
  • Size 09: 4.2 m³/s.

Product Options

Size:

- 05:

  • Active components: 800 x 800 mm.
  • Duct: 520 x 520 mm.

- 07:

  • Active components: 1020 x 1020 mm.
  • Duct: 750 x 750 mm.

- 09:

  • Active components: 1315 x 1315 mm.
  • Duct: 900 x 900 mm.

Cowl:

The type of cowl is dependent on the location and application of the air handling system.

Fan:

  • The axial fans are used where large air volumes must be moved against low to medium pressure.
  • The centrifugal fans are used where large air volumes must be moved against medium to high pressure.

Filter:

- Type:

Dependent on the desired function of the system, such as whether heating is required or the recirculation of air.

- Size:

The available sizes of the filter unit vary greatly, depending on the type of unit and the individual application.

Either a fan or a filter can be used within the air handling system and are enclosed with a standard modular component.

Grille:

The grille air outlets are fitted with two rows of extruded aluminium louvre blades positioned at right angles to each other. The type is dependent on the amount of outlets required from the system.
