Description

Intended for general sealing of many joints in traditional forms of construction where minimal movement is expected. Especially suited for sealing small bedding joints and concealed joints subject to small amounts of movement.

Not recommended for use against bituminous materials, expansion joints, against natural stone or movements joints subject to high degrees of movement.

Standard product features

Technical data:

  • Application temperature: +5°C to +50°C.
  • Service temperature: -40°C to +90°C.
  • Tack free time at 20°C and 65% relative humidity: 24 hours. Forms a skin after approximately 14 days.
  • Chemical resistance: Good resistance to normal acidity and alkalinity associated with building materials.
  • UV resistance: Not suited to situations exposed to direct sunlight, it may craze if exposed to sunlight.
  • Service life: 20+ years.

Movement accommodation:

  • Butt joints (movement in tension and compression): 10–15%.
  • Lap joints (movement in shear): 20–25%.

Joint sizes:

Width:

  • Minimum: 6 mm.
  • Maximum: 20 mm (single application).

Depth:

  • Minimum: 10 mm on porous substrates.
  • Minimum: 6 mm on non-porous substrates.
  • Maximum: 10 mm.

Width:depth ratio (within the above minimum and maximum restrictions).

  • 2:1 butt joints.
  • 1:1 lap or floor joints.
