Application

Suitable to provide the necessary restraint to the top of masonry walls and accommodates vertical movement.

Description

Stainless steel head restraints designed to allow vertical movement to accommodate shrinkage or thermal movement of the wall or structural frame, whilst restraining wind loads.

Head restraint requirements/ spacing to be determined by Structural Engineer and Contractor to be informed.

The standard Ancon IHR suits a 215 mm high block.

Product Reference

FHR Head Restraint

  • Restraint for the top of internal wall, or the inner leaf of a cavity wall.
  • The restraints are supplied with two holes in the longer angle to allow the restraint to fit 100 mm and 140 mm blockwork. Each restraint provides a design resistance of 1890 N.
  • The FHR has two angles which clamp the top of the wall and each have 10 mm holes for a single fixing to the underside of a structural member.


IHR-B Head Restraint

  • Restraint for the top of internal wall, or the inner leaf of a cavity wall.
  • The standard length of an IHR sliding top section will accommodate a gap of 25–50 mm. Longer top sections are available to accommodate gaps of 51–75 mm.
  • The standard height of an IHR will suit a 215 mm block. Other stem lengths are available on request, however, longer stems may be unable to accommodate a gap above 40 mm.
  • The IHR-B has a single 9 mm hole to allow fixing to the underside of a structural member.

IHR-C Head Restraint

  • Restraint for the top of internal wall, or the inner leaf of a cavity wall.
  • The standard length of an IHR sliding top section will accommodate a gap of 25–50 mm. Longer top sections are available to accommodate gaps of 51–75 mm.
  • The standard height of an IHR will suit a 215 mm block. Other stem lengths are available on request, however, longer stems may be unable to accommodate a gap above 40 mm.
  • The IHR-C has a notch end to fix directly to a 38/17 or 30/20 cast-in channel

IHR-H Head Restraint

  • Restraint for the top of internal wall, or the inner leaf of a cavity wall.
  • The standard length of an IHR sliding top section will accommodate a gap of 25–50 mm. Longer top sections are available to accommodate gaps of 51–75 mm.
  • The standard height of an IHR will suit a 215 mm block. Other stem lengths are available on request, however, longer stems may be unable to accommodate a gap above 40 mm.
  • The IHR-H is supplied with a notch end to suit the hammer-on section for attachment to structural steelwork flanges without the need for site drilling.

IHR-S Head Restraint

  • Restraint for the top of internal wall, or the inner leaf of a cavity wall.
  • The standard length of an IHR sliding top section will accommodate a gap of 25–50 mm. Longer top sections are available to accommodate gaps of 51–75 mm.
  • The standard height of an IHR will suit a 215 mm block. Other stem lengths are available on request, however, longer stems may be unable to accommodate a gap above 40 mm.
  • The IHR-S has a single 6 mm hole to allow fixing to the underside of a steel beam.
