Akustak®
Application

  • Aku125: Typically installed to form new spaces and separations, including those where Building Regulations – Part E compliance is required. Suitable for purpose-built dwelling-houses and flats and dwelling-houses and flats formed by material change of use.
  • Aku133: Typically installed in front of existing walls. Suitable for party walls between dwelling-houses and flats where a significant increase in sound insulation is required.
  • AkuStudio: Typically installed to form new spaces and separations where very high levels of sound insulation are required. Suitable for interview rooms, recording studios and test chambers.

Description

Akustak®: A patent protected, Part E compliant, acoustic modular wall system.

Acoustic Performance:

Laboratory tested, in accordance with BS EN ISO 10140-2 and 717-1, to the following airborne sound insulation values:

  • Aku133: Rw 43 dB.
  • Aku125: Rw 49 dB.
  • AkuStudio: Rw 62 dB.

Aku125: Building Regulations - Part E compliant, as per the requisite airborne sound insulation standards, for separating walls between purpose built dwelling-houses and flats and dwelling-houses and flats, formed by material change of use.

Rapid Installation/ Improved Health and Safety:

Prefabricated and portable, transforming interior wall construction into a rapid process of assembly. See indicative installation times below:

  • Aku133: ~ 15 m2/ per hour.
  • Aku125: ~ 10 m2/ per hour.
  • AkuStudio: ~5 m2/ per hour.

Measuring <0.8 m²/ 25 kg, modules can be safely manually handled by one man (as per HSE guidelines), fitting through narrow staircases and corridors and inside elevators.

Requiring only 1 to 2 fitters, a cordless drill and basic hand tools for installation; enhancing health and safety standards on-site.

Ply-lined, as standard, facilitating secure surface-mounted fixtures and fittings, without the need for reinforcements and/ or wall plugs.

Sustainability:

  • Designed for materials optimization and off-site construction, eliminating over-ordering and expendable off-cuts, during manufacture and installation.
  • Demountable, at the point of deconstruction, facilitating recovery and reuse.
  • Selected for ‘Innovative Start-up’ membership, by the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC).
  • Selected as an ‘Approved Product’ by the Alliance for Sustainable Building Products (ASBP).
  • Environmental Product Declaration (EPD): Coming soon.

Fire Performance:

  • Reaction to fire: A2 (across the product range).
  • Resistance to fire: Laboratory testing, in accordance with BS EN 1364-1, scheduled for July 2021, with the BRE.
