The Catalyst building provides a mix of private offices, public areas and co-working spaces. Home to the UK’s National Innovation Centre for Ageing and the National Innovation Centre for Data. The design and installation of the Schüco FWS 60 façade required complex setting out and fabrication due to the geometry associated with the façade and the feature diagrid running on the diagonal. The Catalyst became the first commercial office building in the North East to be awarded the certification of “Outstanding” by BREEAM, a rating only the top 1% of new UK non-domestic buildings.
