Artisan building complex in Fitzrovia, London

The renowned London project developer Dukelease has renovated six historical buildings in the centre of London, and transformed them into 13 luxurious apartments and penthouses. The apartments were equipped with state-of-the-art building technology – a Gira KNX system with the Gira HomeServer and touch sensors from the Gira E22 in aluminium switch range.

Berlin Central Station

The Berlin Central Station is the largest and most modern railway hub in Europe. It was opened in May 2006 after a construction period of approximately eleven years. It was designed by Meinhard von Gerkan from the Hamburg location of gmp. von Gerkan, Marg und Partner Architects.

Building complex at Fitzroy Place, London

Fitzroy Place is located right in the heart of London – in the district of Fitzrovia, just a few minutes from Oxford Street, Regent Street and Regent’s Park. This area has always attracted artists and creatives – and was once home to Charles Dickens, Arthur Rimbaud and Virginia Woolf. Fitzroy Place is a unique collection of new buildings, comprising apartments, shops, restaurants, cafés and office space, all organised around a green square. At the centre lies Fitzrovia Chapel, erected at the end of the 19th century.

Center for Mobile Propulsion

The BLB Aachen has realised another new construction project for the RWTH Aachen University: the Center for Mobile Propulsion (CMP) research centre, a competence centre for the exploration and advancement of engine technology. The three-part building complex was designed by Lepel & Lepel in Cologne.

Centre for Astronomy Education and Outreach in Heidelberg

The Centre for Astronomy Education and Outreach in Heidelberg is unique. The architects Bernhardt + Partner in Darmstadt were inspired by the Whirlpool Galaxy M51 which is located 28 million light years away. Being presented the Energy Efficiency Award 2013 not only acknowledges the excellent daylight concept and exemplary primary energy balance, as well as its outstanding architecture.

Chelsea Residence

The affluent neighbourhood of Chelsea is located in West London between the River Thames and Sloane Square. Chelsea Residence is a single-family home in this area which has been extensively renovated. Simple elegance is the overriding feature of the the 260 m² house. The multiple bedrooms are not only a veritable treat for the owners, but also their guests.

Country house in New Forest, Hampshire, Great Britain

Thornby is an elegant country house in the New Forest, in the English county of Hampshire. It stands out due to its architectural style and size: a traditional brick house, surrounded by parkland. The owners decided on an extensive renovation, with intelligent building technology from Gira, ensuring maximum convenience and energy efficiency.

Edge House in Krakow

Krakow is considered as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Today, the second largest city in Poland is still referred to as the country's unofficial capital. Just four kilometres from the centre as the crow flies, a former quarry has become home to a residence with a striking slate roof: the Edge House.

EnBW Youth Training Centre for VfB Stuttgart

After nearly 15 months of construction, the EnBW Youth Training Centre for VfB Stuttgart was inaugurated at the end of 2014. The building, which cost approximately 9 million Euros, is located on the club grounds in Bad Cannstatt, and offers new dressing rooms with more space and comfort for young VfB talent in the U11 to U23 categories.

Esslingen Hospice

In spring 2014, the first in-patient hospice in the county of Esslingen was inaugurated. Architect Jens Könekamp achieved an excellent balance between old and new: the new building is located directly beside the former rectory, which dates back to 1824.

Expansion of the adidas "World of Sports" campus

The global company adidas has always manufactured at a German location – to be more exact, in Herzogenaurach in central Franconia. The adidas AG World of Sports had a state-of-the-art building constructed there under the leadership of the architects of kadawittfeldarchitektur. This building fits into the existing ensemble as the functional centrepiece. It is named Laces

Fenman House

From industrial wasteland to a future oriented, energy efficient, smart living environment, residents at Fenman House adopt a development of 76 stunning apartments by award winning property developer, Argent. Festival theatre in Erl

The Viennese office of Delugan Meissl Associated Architects realised the new festival theatre surrounded by the Tyrolean mountain landscape. Its architecture respects the neighbouring old passion play theatre and thrusts into the adjacent precipice.

German School Madrid

Founded back in 1896, the German School Madrid is one of the oldest German international schools. In 2009, the Berlin-based office Grüntuch Ernst Architects won the competition to construct a new building. The result is a building which houses a nursery school, primary school and secondary school for approx. 300 nursery school children and 1,500 pupils.

Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre Reykjavik

Reykjavik's spectacular concert hall and conference centre is Iceland's new landmark. With their joint design, Henning Larsen Architects and Batteríid Architects have literally held a mirror up to nature.

ICE Kraków Congress Centre

Kraków is one of the oldest cities in Poland. Its picturesque Old Town, with its unique architecture, has been classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. In autumn 2014, in the historic area located at the heart of the city, a new modern conference centre was opened: the ICE Congress Centre. It took several years to construct the 36,000 square metres of usable space on an area of 7 hectares.

The Maternity and Paediatric Hospital Gregorio Maranon in Madrid cares for patients suffering from cancer. The hospital is respected for its highly-qualified specialists. Children are usually treated in hospital over a longer period. To help them feel at ease, the Juegaterapia foundation has given the Paediatric Oncology department two "space stations" from the company PlayOffice.

Otto Bock HealthCare

The international family-run company Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH is on the technological cutting edge. The Science Center Berlin, located between Potsdamer Platz and the Brandenburg Gate, provides the public with insight on the topic of mobility with disabilities.

A home owner near Lake Constance has fulfilled his dream of having an office with a view: From the top floor, one can enjoy a fabulous vista of the water and the Alps rising into the sky behind the lake. In terms of building technology, virtually everything that you could wish for in an intelligent home has been installed. All components in the house have been networked via a KNX system, so that they can be controlled centrally and even automatically, when cross-linked with each other.

Residential building The Pavilion in Blackheath, London

In the London district of Blackheath, the owners, the Coopers, began by purchasing a pagoda originally built by the architect Sir William Chambers (1723 – 1796) in the oriental style. For their retirement, however, they wanted a modern, energy-efficient home, while preferably staying in this green part of the city. A good friend of the family suggested building below the pagoda. The single-family home was designed by their son Sam Cooper, director of E2 Architecture + Interiors.

SAP administration building in St. Ingbert

The expansion of the headquarters of the global software company SAP in St. Ingbert near Saarbrücken was a sophisticated project. Selecting just any property outside the city was not an option. It was necessary for the property to have a central location. In previous times, a factory owner had already realised how charming the property was when he had his villa built there and an English park set up. Today, the villa is a listed historic building. The old stock of trees has been maintained from the park.

Spicer's House in Oxshott

The small village of Oxshott lies to the south west of London. In the shadows of the capital, its inhabitants enjoy a rural quality of life. The idyllic hamlet has also become home to a truly exquisite presence: the Spicer's House. Built for a family, the mansion comes complete with a park in grounds spanning 0.2 acres. The house alone covers a good 1,000 m2.

ThyssenKrupp Quarter

With the new construction of its company headquarters in Essen, ThyssenKrupp AG returned to the site of its corporate roots after a three-year construction phase. Covering a total of 230 hectares, the Krupp Belt is the completely new area built to join the administration buildings of the diversified industrial company which had previously been spatially separated. The company's history began here in 1811 with the cast steel factory Gussstahlfabrik Fried. Krupp.

Tumle residential home near Gothenburg, Sweden

On a mountaintop overlooking the Skagerrak stands this black, hexagonal residence, where no two sides look alike: Tumle House. Its shape - an irregular hexagon - follows both the topography of the site and the preferences of the owner family. For planning and construction, they hired the architect Johannes Norlander. The result is an exceptional work of art in the form of a truly unique building.

Unilever Hamburg

Even its location is one-of-a-kind: HafenCity Hamburg, on the Strandkai directly along the Elbe River, within sight of the Elbe Philharmonic Concert Hall on one side and the cruise ship terminal on the other. The Marco Polo Terraces are right around the corner. Unilever Germany has built its new corporate headquarters on this striking location of the currently largest inner-city construction project in Europe. The building was designed by Behnisch Architekten from Stuttgart, and it covers 30,000 square metres and sets new standards in a variety of ways.

University of Economics in Vienna

After just four years of construction, an unusual and extremely exciting campus was inaugurated in October 2013: the University of Economics in Vienna. Both the schedule and the budget of approximately 492 million Euros were successfully adhered to. Following the master plan by Vienna-based architects BUSarchitektur, six building complexes were created that were designed by six different international architects.
