Burj Khalifa

The 828m high Burj Khalifa in Dubai is the tallest building in the world, has the greatest number of stories (163), highest occupied floor and the elevator with the longest travel distance. It dwarfs Australia’s highest building, the 322.5m Q1 on the Gold Coast, and is also more than twice the height of the 328m sky tower in Auckland. But it has something in common with both -contending with constant and sometimes vigorous winds.

Burke and Wills Hotel

The Burke and Wills Hotel has discovered that one solution to reduce the strain on HVAC systems is the use of a revolving door at the front entrance. Based in Toowoomba in South Queensland – which can plunge below 5 degrees and experience frost and wind chill in winter – the Burke and Wills Hotel has installed a Boon Edam Tourniket revolving door, installed by their distribution partner, Auto Ingress.

Gateway Building, Sydney

Property leader Dexus has upgraded the Gateway building in Sydney’s Circular Quay, to feature entry security measures that are increasingly demanded by tenants seeking protection of employees, visitors and valuable data. Gateway is Australia’s first office tower to use fully integrated touchless hand scanning to allow authorised office workers and guests into the building. Boon Edam delivered the entrance security solution, with speedgates that are the slimmest in the market, which added to the aesthetics, and helped with design considerations within the width of the lift lobbies.

Hudson’s Bay

Two high-end department stores Rokin 21 and Rokin 49 are rented by the Canadian Hudson's Bay Company (HBC), making this their Dutch headquarters. Both buildings have a new façade, which has been designed to blend in with their historic location. Authenticity is achieved with 3D curved aluminum façades and curtain walls housing enormous windows. The storefront display windows on the ground floor are 4.5 by 3 meters. A collaboration between Boon Edam and Stackdoor has resulted in an impressively tall entrance through a glass Tourniket original revolving door with a height of 4.3 meters.

RagingWire Data Centre

RagingWire is one of the largest and most solid data centers in the world. They were one of the first companies that helped to build the multi-billion dollar global data center co-location industry. Now, RagingWire is the data center platform of NTT Communications in North America, which operates 140 data centers in 20 countries worldwide. RagingWire uses Tourlock security revolving doors at its Ashburn VA3 Data Center and its Sacramento CA3 Data Center. Rialto Towers, Melbourne

Boon Edam has enhanced the aesthetics, efficiency and functionality of the entrance to Melbourne’s Rialto Towers by installing five of the largest revolving doors in the Southern Hemisphere, each standing 5 metres tall. The new doors are a striking focal point of the $100m regeneration project for the Rialto building, managed by Built, to modernise the building and extend it by wrapping new buildings around its base. The doors are part of Boon Edam’s Tourniket range, with custom-made Tournex dual motors to control the giant 1.3t doors.
