Architectural Lighting Scheme for Demanding Environments. Cardiff Airport, Cardiff.

In May 2018, Cardiff airport reached a new milestone on its way to transformation - 1.5 million customers a year now choose to fly from the Welsh capital. Full lighting design, lighting calculations and 3D visualisation have been produced to support the design team. In the main circulation area in the departure lounge, the cylindrical adjustable spot Sett suspended was specified and used. Various lengths of the Lopen Surface mounted have been used to create the pattern. The Lopen has a versatile clean-cut linear profile with outstanding efficiency and performance.

Bespoke Architectural Lighting for a Cycling Studio. First Light Cycle Studio, Westfield.

With the design concept completely focused on creating an empowering experience, the new exercise studio FIRSTLIGHT is no ordinary studio. The bold scheme designed by interior and architecture design firm zynk translates the essence of the FIRSTLIGHT brand into a contemporary interior, using an industrial style colour palette and materials such as concrete, mesh and timber. The complex linear scheme on this project consists of 9 bespoke corner pieces, some of them at very tight angles. With everything fitting seamlessly together, we made the unworkable, workable. Rio enhances the industrial style interior design with exposed soffits and provides comfortable lighting

Bespoke Architectural Lighting for Coffered Slabs. Glen House, London.

Situated at the heart of Hammersmith Town Centre in West London, the recently refurbished late 70’s building Glen House offers approximately 32,000 sq ft of high spec CAT A office space with a few perks like bike parking, showers and roof terrace. The clean lines of RIO Suspended enhance the exposed coffered slabs, adding bold visual feature and texture to the space. The bespoke ceiling lights are side-lit using a double satin diffuser, emitting soft comfortable light. 299 also supplied lighting for corridors and bathrooms.

Bespoke Lighting for a CAT B Fitout. The Bower, 207-211 Old Street, London.

The recent CAT B refurbishment situated on the 17th floor of The Tower building sees a pioneering transformation of an entire floor of approximately 11,329 sq. ft for the London HQ of the global tech payment platform Finablr. The ‘squiggle’, as we internally call this organic linear system, consists of 31 parts of the Rio Suspended that had to be assembled on site. The whole linear system was delivered in a contemporary matt black finish to match the dark colour scheme of the exposed ceilings. The bespoke lighting system was delivered to the site on time.

Bespoke Linear Profiles for CAT B Office Fitout. 35 Cock Lane, London.

In 2017, the ground floor and lower ground floor of this old and tired building was purchased by private prosecution specialists who specialise in 'white collar crime'. The 299 team have created the lighting layout, product specification and calculations for this Cat B fit out. Full lighting design and emergency lighting plan were produced alongside the renders to help visualise the effect of the new lighting scheme. Two bespoke sized linear luminaires of 2062 x 2062 mm with lit corners were created and installed as feature lighting in the reception area.

Bespoke Office Lighting Scheme. Money.co.uk, Cirencester.

The financial comparison website money.co.uk operates from a rather unique location- a beautiful castle in Cirencester. Our team bounced the ideas back and forth with the designers at Interaction for months to ensure, that the client would be offered the best office lighting scheme for the varied and individual requirements of their staff. The whole design scheme was tailored around wellbeing enabling people to work the way they want. The main challenge of the project was to provide good quality lighting for large open space offices with skylights and exposed services.

CAT A Fitout with Exposed Beams. 34-38 Provost Street, London.

The recent CAT A refurbishment and extension of a Victorian warehouse building, 34-38 Provost Street offers approximately 15,000 sq. ft of commercial office space with plenty of daylight. Our team conducted several site visits followed by full office lighting design and calculations, making sure the correct lighting products including emergency lighting have been specified and selected for all areas. 55 hours of lighting design in total were used to secure this projects. At the same time, 3D visuals were produced to help to visualise the space. The Rio Suspended direct/-indirect was used as the main luminaire.

CAT A Office Fitout Using PIR Sensors. 42-44 Gerrard Street, London.

The recently refurbished 42-44 Gerrard Street offers approximately 10,000 sq ft. of contemporary CAT A office space. Our team worked closely with the design team, main contractor and client, to deliver this cool and contemporary CAT A office space exactly to client’s specification. The team at 299 attended several site meetings. Full lighting design and calculations alongside luminaire schedules were produced for the office space and communal areas by the team, to ensure the correct light levels for Part L compliance were achieved.

CAT B Fitout for a Serviced Office Space. The Connolly Works, 41-43 Chalton Street, London.

This was 299’s third project for Boutique Workplace. The previously completed 71-73 Carter Lane and Clerkenwell Close were a good starting point for the fruitful collaboration with the trendy flexible workplace provider. The latest addition to Boutique Workplace's growing portfolio of design-led serviced workplace destinations around central London features 17,500 sq. ft of flexible office space. True to their brand philosophy, the recently refurbished 4 storey 41-43 Chalton Street offers a boutique-style mixture of private offices, self-contained floors, shared space, meeting rooms and lounge with the signature striking personality.

Contemporary Architectural Feature Lighting. The Beecroft Building, Oxford.

With state of the art laboratories and contemporary accommodation for theorists achieved through the £59M building project, the Oxford University Department of Physics declares its ambition of creating one of the most advanced physics departments in the world. The brief was to deliver contemporary architectural feature lighting that would match the ambitious design of the project. The natural colour scheme of the atrium is further enhanced with large suspended pendants, Fort Knox by VISO. The contemporary interiors of the thinking spaces have been fitted with the large suspended feature luminaires, OUSE Suspended.

Contemporary CAT A Office Fitout. 99-101 Farringdon Road, London.

Originally built in 1887 as a warehouse, this remarkable building has recently undergone a major refurbishment resulting in a 3-storey contemporary office space with a strong industrial feel. Our team supported the architect with a product specification, full lighting design and calculation, ensuring that all correct light levels for LG7 were met. The outstanding performance, low glare and efficiency combined with a clean-cut look make the Oka an ideal luminaire for general office lighting. Fitted with a microprismatic diffuser, it enhances the interior, distributing comfortable and highly uniform light.

Contemporary CAT B Fitout Utilising Connected Lighting. Eagle House, Bristol.

The recent CAT B refurbishment and rooftop extension of the 1930’s building Eagle House situated in the heart of Bristol sees a transformation of a vacant building to approximately 38,000 sq. ft of an attractive workplace. Eagle House was a dynamic D&B project, utilising the latest wireless lighting control technology across the large fit out. The 299 team worked closely with everyone involved in this complex project, supporting and coordinating the installation on site. Our light engineers attended numerous site meetings and provided the project team with feedback and guidance mainly with the lighting control systems.

Contemporary Lighting for a Breakout & Reception Area. BDP Office, Bristol.

Approached by the major international practice, Building Design Partnership, we were asked to assist with the design and supply of a visually striking entrance area for their Bristol studio. The 299 team worked closely with the interior designer from the sketched concept stage, right through to installation. The Lopen LED Surface was introduced to give clean lines of light on the black ceiling, blending in with the Black finish.The Lopen is also installed over the reception area in a White finish which evokes a contemporary, modern look.

Contemporary Lighting for Reception Areas. 1 Bridge Street, Stains.

The new Strata Building is a world class office development. It offers 89,000 sq. ft of high specification office space on 3 spacious floorplates and with it's contemporary design and triple height reception area, large open terrace and beautiful gardens Strata offers everything a modern office building needs. For the circulation areas on the first and second floor, we supplied Lopen recessed profiles that are continuously repeated to create uniform directional lighting. In the triple hight reception area, bright downlights were required. Good quality lighting in reception areas and circulation spaces offers a nice environment for the staff.

Corporate Style CAT B Office Lighting. One Redcliff Street, Bristol.

The multi-phased scheme on Redcliff Street sees a comprehensive modernisation of 14 floors, construction of a new floor at roof level and complete rebuilt of the reception area. The brief for the lighting was to deliver a modern yet conservative look in keeping with the TLT brand whilst meeting the CIBSE regulations. In the breakout space, the slim linear profile Leck was installed in between the wooden rafts in a random pattern. In the open plan office, the large suspended ring shaped luminaire Ouse was used.

Creative Lighting for Reception Areas. The National Mathematics and Science College, Warwick.

A contemporary and aesthetically pleasing campus is sure to attract the best staff and students. When we were approached by the college with the design brief of creating a unique design inspired by science and mathematics, our lighting designers rubbed their hands together in excitement. The office floors were lit with the linear lighting system Lopen, which perfectly lends itself to custom length solutions. The slim ring-shaped luminaire Ouse was used as the centrepiece of the installation. The 2m large fitting with a uniquely designed diffuser creates an impression of a light, gravity defying slim ring, floating in space.

Creative Lighting Scheme for Circulation Areas. Colston Tower, Bristol.

Our team was approached by Child+Sulzmann architects in 2015 to deliver a creative lighting scheme for circulation areas. The brief was to create a contemporary social space serving the growing community of approximately 700 people working at the tower. LEDS-C4 vintage style decorative pendants “Vintage” from their range Grok are suspended above the seating area within the reception. The urban grey finish with accents of red compliments the vibrant style of the interior. The Lopen Surface mounted was also supplied to the Cycle Hub delivering an efficient and reliable lighting scheme.

Custom Architectural Feature Lighting. Green Retreats, Wescott Venture Park.

The new indoor showroom, located just outside Aylesbury, features 12 fully furnished garden rooms and a virtual reality room, which is the largest of its kind in the UK. The 299 team supported the design concept with product specification, lighting design and calculations. 3D visuals were created, allowing the client to visualise the effect the lighting would have. Y-shaped and 'boomerang' shaped custom architectural feature lighting based on the linear profile Rio was designed and manufactured specially for this project. Standard ring-shaped luminaires Rydal have also been used in the design scheme.

Custom Lighting System for Suspended Ceilings. Baskerville House, Birmingham.

uperb location and attractive neighbourhood. Looking very impressive on the outside, the newly refurbished Baskerville House welcomes with a grand reception area which then turns into a modern airy atrium, offering excellent natural light and modern workspace fulfilling the demands of new tenants. The office floors were lit with the linear lighting system Lopen, which perfectly lends itself to custom length solutions. For the breakout spaces, the circular suspended fitting Talla was used in combination with the soft square suspended profile Tarras bringing a visual interest into space and creating an area with a different light distribution.

Custom Linear Lighting System for a Premium CAT B. 100 Brook Drive, Green Bank, Reading.

The prestigious Green Park in Reading is home to large corporate business, offering premium office space, excellent transport links and boasting views over Longwater lake. With over 20+ variation of system sizes and some containing custom corners, this was a very complex scheme to design and quote. The clean lines and flexibility of RIO Suspended caught their attention and the whole made-to-measure linear system using various corners was specified to adapt to the angled floor plan. The technical shape of the Faseny Suspended compliments the style of the scheme and was used to illuminate the desks.

Feature Lighting for Retail Areas. Grand Central, Birmingham.

Situated above the redeveloped New Street Station and encased in the stunning architectural building and stainless steel façade, the long awaited top class shopping destination opened its doors to the public on the 24th September 2015. Our team assisted with the product selection of feature lighting for retail areas and the large feature lighting for the concourse. The modern and airy feel of the Grand Central was enhanced by plaster in feature lighting scattered in random clusters seamlessly disappearing into the ceiling of the visually attractive building.

Industrial Style CAT A Office Fitout. Spectrum House, London.

The newly refurbished industrial style CAT A office fitout at Spectrum House offers a contemporary work space in Camden. A mix of open plan offices, studios and small offices, the site caters for a variety of business. Some office spaces were specified and supplied with the suspended Oka profile. A mixture of all sizes has been used throughout the project (Oka is available in 4 sizes ranging from 1200 to 3000mm) and all luminaires were supplied as DALI dimmable. Some office units were specified and supplied with the suspended Tonge.

Interior and Exterior Architectural Lighting for a Trendy CAT A Refurbishment. Abbey Gate, Reading.

The recent CAT A refurbishment of Abbey Wharf offers approximately 23,000 sq ft of reinvigorated commercial office space with a large personality. Working closely with Spratley & Partners on the design side and Hollis Global on the performance side of the scheme, 299 put their mark on the project. Our team designed the full interior CAT A office lighting and exterior lighting including emergency lighting, ready for tender. In the reception area and breakout, the Nile suspended was specified and used for main illumination of the space.

Large Architectural Feature Lighting. Uxbridge Library, London.

Uxbridge Library is a well-renowned library located in the borough of Hillingdon in London. It first opened in 1987, and has recently received a well-deserved makeover. We used a continuous suspended linear profile Leam to illuminate the public walkways including the stairs, circulation areas around the balcony and the areas surrounding the atrium. We also used a slim trimless continuous profile Lopen which is slimmer than the Leam. The new lighting was supplied in time, much to the satisfaction of the client.

LG& Office Lighting Scheme for a CAT A Refurbishment. Wentworth House, Milton Keynes.

Set in 11 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, Caldecotte Lake Business Park in Milton Keynes offers 8 detached office buildings in an exceptional natural environment, refurbished to high standard. Full lighting design, lux level calculations including the emergency lighting plan were produced alongside 3D renders of the space to help visualise the effect of the new lighting. Featuring the suspended architectural profile, the Oka Suspended is installed diagonally across the space.The design of the Oka also compliments the Rydal Suspended which have been used as the main architectural feature luminaires on the scheme.

Lighting Design Consultancy for a Co-Working Space. LABS House, London.

Backed up by world’s most successful entrepreneurs and technology experts, LABS is a network of trendy and tech- savvy coworking spaces in London and Tel Aviv. 299’s team was trusted with creating the lighting layout for the entire building, making sure the new office lighting will be compliant with LG7 guide and CIBSE. The RIO Suspended was used as the main office luminaire throughout the whole scheme. The circulation areas and corridors are lit with the the slim linear profile LECK Suspended. We designed the abstract suspended feature lighting for the atrium using the NILE Suspended.

Lighting Design for a CAT A Mixed Use Development. 10 Bard Road, London.

This 6 storey mixed use development has recently undergone a major refurbishment. The result are 2 floors of contemporary Cat A office fit out ready for a tenant to move in. The 299 TEAM provided the client with a full lighting design and calculation, ensuring that all correct light levels for LG7 were met. The Lopen an ideal luminaire for general office lighting fitted with an opal diffuser, enhanced the interiors, creating clean lines of light. The area was further enhanced by the ring-shaped suspended luminaires, Rydals in matte black finish. The Sett was used in the circulation areas.

Lighting for a CAT A Office Refurbishment. Focus Point, London.

The Regents Quarter project was set to regenerate the rundown area around the station. In phase 1 of the refurbishment, our team worked alongside Aros Architects and J Dunton Associates on the Cat A office refurbishment of the ground and first floor of Focus Point. We were involved from the initial design stages and supported the architects with full lighting design and calculations. This slim linear luminaire is the perfect choice for creating infinite lines of light and the trimless version is suitable for custom joinery installations.

Lighting for industrial Style CAT A Fitout. Little London, London.

Situated on the south side of the River Thames, next to Tower Bridge, the area of Shad Thames used to be the largest industrial warehouse complex in London during the Victorian times. Little London forms a natural community that offers more than just a place to work. After an initial site meeting and the sample sign off, full lighting design and visuals were produced by our lighting design team. The design brief for the lighting scheme was a contemporary design with industrial feel and compliance with CIBSE guidelines. The luminaire used for the general office lighting was the Oka Suspended.

Lighting for Listed Commercial Buildings. The Maltings, Cardiff.

We were approached by the office manager at The Maltings with the design brief of creating an attractive LG7 compliant lighting scheme. The Maltings currently house 95 offices, a mixture of serviced and self managed offices, ranging from 2 person office to 300 sq ft offices. Our team provided the client with full lighting design and technical advice on how to achieve a LG7 compliant scheme. The selected light fittings were used in the whole range of mounting options and specified in white colour, with the aim of keeping the look timeless and clean.

Linear CAT B Office Lighting. LiveWest, Weston-super-Mare.

The project consisted of two separate sites, featuring a contemporary re-design of an existing CAT A space to suit the client’s brand and production and testing facility. The design brief was to utilise the industrial look of the warehouse to create a bright, fresh and contemporary space that would match the office space. All linear office lighting was supplied in a contemporary matt black finish, perfectly bringing the colour scheme together. Thanks to its clean aesthetics, excellent performance and high visual comfort, the RIO is a popular choice of general lighting for working environment.

Linear Lighting for Specification Office. 740 Waterside Drive, Bristol.

The 740 Waterside Drive, owned by Legal and General Property, is situated just off the main circuit and one of the lakes. This impressive 51,000 sq ft. building has recently undergone a major remodelling. The aim of this complete refurbishment was to create efficient office space of the very best quality. Our team worked closely with the design team at Hoare Lea and guided them with the linear LED lighting product selection process. Several product options were evaluated and supported with lighting calculations, before Lightnet’s linear LED profile Matric L4 was put forward.

Modern Lighting Design for Sophisticated Workplace. BayernLB, London.

299 Lighting worked alongside J Dunton Associates and HLW Architects to provide a lighting design scheme for BayernLB’s new office. 299 Lighting supplied the Leck LED linear profile to be recessed into the ceiling as continuous lines of light. Several runs were installed in multiple areas including 3 meeting rooms, the ‘meet and greet’ corridor and above the branding wall. We also supplied the Xicato LED downlights which were installed in the circulation areas, meeting rooms and corridors. They were specified with a white bezel finish to match the ceilings, which again creates an invisible light source flush effect.

Office Defurbishment. Golate House, Cardiff.

This 5 storey office development has recently undergone a major defurbishment and our team has been playing a vital part of reviving this tired office building with a new contemporary look. The suspended linear luminaire Lopen enhances contemporary interiors, creating clean lines of light. The new lighting was supplied to the 3rd and 4th floor and the results look stunning. The scheme goes above and beyond the client’s expectation.

Office Lighting for a BREEAM Rated CAT B Fitout. 10-12 Mount Street, Manchester.

The recent CAT B refurbishment situated on the 6th floor of the Lexicon Building in Manchester sees not only a stylish transformation of a vacant space, but also a unique opportunity to showcase Hollis' real commitment to sustainability. We created the lighting layout and a luminaire schedule, based on the client’s specification. Our team provided technical advice and working samples. In the main open plan office designed to accommodate 25 workstations, the designer’s favourite Rio Suspended was specified in matte black colour. In the quiet working area, Venta Track was used allowing the feature wall to stand out.

Office Lighting for a CAT A Fitout. Discovery House, London.

The recently refurbished Discovery House is a desirable and diverse location to work. The building features a lower ground floor and 2 floor plates with identical layout, with office floor space totalling 27,322 sq ft.The clients brief for office lighting was a high quality, high efficiency Cat A scheme using contemporary linear lighting.
