Freedor SmartSound is a retrofit free-swing closer that removes the heavy weight of a fire door, making it a cost-effective wireless alternative to automatic doors and hardwired automatic closers. The door can be left open at any angle but closes when the fire alarm activates to stop the spread of fire and smoke. Having been tested to EN1634 conditions on specific doorsets with multiple fire door manufacturers, building managers will have both the required test evidence and required compartmentation in event of fire. Freedor SmartSound is activated acoustically, responding to both Part 1 and Part 6 detectors. Its used extensively in social housing for residents with mobility issues and to tackle the increasing problem of people disengaging the door closers on their flat entrance door.
