Thermal enhancing secondary glazing - energy saving for Listed buildings

An independent secondary glazed window, correctly installed and well-sealed on the inside of the primary widow, will significantly minimise air leakage. It traps an insulating layer of air that can reduce heat loss by up to 50% using standard glass and 65% with low-E glass. U-values of 2.6 can be reached with standard secondary glazing, however if low-E glass is used they can further reduced to 1.8 and even further if enhanced thermal sealed units are used.
