Waterproof Blue – Liquid Damp Proof Membrane (DPM)

Product Application – Waterproof Blue

General

Apply in accordance with the manufacturer’s written instructions to form a continuous, seamless damp-proof and waterproof membrane.

The membrane shall be applied to create a monolithic barrier free from joints, laps or mechanical fixings.

Substrate Preparation

Substrates shall be:

• Structurally sound
• Clean and dust-free
• Free from laitance, grease, oil or loose material
• Dry or surface dry (no standing water)

Cracks and surface defects shall be repaired prior to application.

Sharp edges and protrusions shall be removed.

Environmental Conditions

• Minimum application temperature: +5°C and rising
• Do not apply to frozen substrates
• Protect from rain or standing water until fully cured

Application Method

• Ready to use – do not dilute
• Stir thoroughly before application
• Apply by roller or paint brush
• Work evenly across the surface to achieve full, continuous coverage
• Ensure complete coverage at corners, junctions and upstands

Particular attention shall be given to:

• Floor-to-wall junctions
• Internal corners
• Pipe penetrations
• Construction joints

Apply sufficient material to achieve a uniform, pinhole-free membrane.

Coats and Coverage

Apply in accordance with recommended coverage rates to achieve the required dry film thickness.

Where necessary, a second coat may be applied once the first coat is touch-dry to ensure full waterproof continuity.

Curing and Overcoating

Allow the membrane to cure fully before:

• Installing screeds
• Applying tile adhesives
• Installing floor finishes
• Subject to water exposure

The completed installation shall provide a continuous damp-proof and waterproof barrier ready to receive final finishes.
