Application

Passive Purple is applied with an airless spray machine, such as the Graco 495, Graco 595 or similar products. Passive Purple airtight liquid adheres to most substrates known to the construction industry. From Blockwork, Concrete, OSB, MgO Board, Spray applied & PIR insulation, Timber and Steel. A build with multiple substrate changes is an easy task to perform unlike traditional methods.

Description

Passive Purple is the world's first Passivhaus certified liquid applied airtight, vapour control and smoke tight membrane, trusted by architects, contractors and self builders to hit the toughest airtightness targets first time.

Spray or roller applied to the warm side of the insulation, it forms a seamless, flexible purple membrane that seals walls, floors, roofs and junctions in one pass. One installer can cover up to 300m2 per day, slashing programme time compared with tapes and foil VCLs. Certified by the Passivhaus Institut and BBA approved (Certificate 22/6002), it is fire rated, low VOC and also certified as a radon and methane gas barrier.

Passive Purple bonds to virtually every substrate: brick, block, concrete, timber, OSB, plasterboard and steel, on new builds, retrofits and light gauge steel frame. Once cured it can be plastered, rendered or painted, giving a permanent airtight layer for the life of the building.

Pair it with Passive Purple Brush for junctions, penetrations and cracks up to 5mm, IM Fleece Tape for window and door reveals, and FRED where a Class B fire rated build up is specified.
