Application

Civil infrastructure.

  • As a decorative topcoat for the FIRETEX range of single pack intumescent coatings but also to provide protection when used in an internal semi-controlled environment. (Category C2 as defined in ISO 12944-2).
  • After appropriate drying, can be exposed to weather provided that the specific use or storage does not lead to ponding water due to rainfall, condensation or other site / transportation / storage circumstances.
  • May also be used as a decorative finish for degreased internal galvanised decking (C1 environment only); to match the finish of surrounding PFP coated and sealed steelwork.

Description

FIRETEX® M71V2 is a sheen decorative topcoat for FIRETEX® range of single component intumescent coatings and also provides protection when used in internal semi-controlled conditions where condensation may occur (Category C2 as defined in ISO 12944-2).

Airless spray, conventional spray, brush or roller.

Brush or roller: 9.39 m²/kg (11.73 m²/L).

Drying time

At +15°C: to touch: 1 hour; to recoat: 4 hours.
At +23°C: to touch: 45 minutes; to recoat: 4 hours.
At +35°C: to touch: 30 minutes; to recoat: 4 hours.

Manufacturer guidance

'Dry to handle' time will depend on total thickness of intumescent overcoated.
