Forming part of the award-winning redevelopment at Battersea Power Station, the engine room is home to a luxurious co-working space split across two levels. With an art-deco inspired interior, The engine room contains a small coffee shop area, high-end hybrid workspaces, meeting rooms, individual offices, collaborative spaces and a members lounge.The client required a room-divider that would suit the art-deco interior, and provide drama and intrigue to the space. The solution could not compromise the aesthetics and had to be versatile enough to not interfere with the area when not in use. And to make things just a little more interesting, the solution had to be fitted on support beams at a height of 6.5m!The specification used two SG 5600 curved motorised curtain tracks suspended on beams using V-and-vertical hangers all precisely measured to cope with the weight of the long, heavy curtains. Both systems are controlled using radio hand-held remote controls with the reassurance of the manual override in the event of a power failure.Additional SG 6870 manual wave curtain tracks face fixed with Smart Fix brackets were specified for the meeting rooms and individual offices.

You'd be forgiven for not giving this private home in Cardiff, Wales a second glance. Nestled away from sight, what appears as a small single-storey house quickly transforms into a stunning statement home.The owner wanted window treatments that complemented the open plan, daylight-rich Scandi interior. The brief was to provide soft shading which contrasted the hard surfaces, including the black metal framed Crittle doors and windows. The wide doors in the main living arear required the power of motorised track SG 5600, supplied in black in line with the theme of the decor and window frames. Wave curtains in Polyflax gently diffuse the daylight, flooding the room with a gentle ambience.The master bedroom required layered curtains to provide both privacy and room darkening. System SG 6465 in black was selected, again, the shape and colour perfectly complementing the window frame. Swiss headed curtains in Polyflax provide privacy whilst Wave curtains Leviso ensure a good nights sleep! The combination of the two heading styles not only adds interest but also limits the space required. The childrens bedrooms are fitted with roller blinds SG 4910 for room darkening with roman blinds SG 2305 for decoration.

Bowcliffe Hall is a stately home now hosting large events. the Blackburn Wing is a 2000sq ft tree house conference and event venue shaped like an airplane wing and nestled in ancient woodland at the heart of the estate.
The challenge for Silent Gliss was to specify and discreetly fit products to work perfectly on sloping ceilings with an open plan design objective. the solution was found using the Silent Gliss motorised roller blinds System 4960 and 4880.

Carlyon Bay is a 3 km stretch of sandy beach in Cornwall, West of England. This private residence was renovated into a luxury home by a property developer using the skills and talents of Leivars Interior Design Studio. The design objective was to focus on the stunning sea views and maximise the abundance of natural light. Scandi design dominates with the use of blond wood floor and furniture.Silent Gliss Metropole with Wave was selected in keeping with a minimalist but homely ambience. Sheer Wave curtains offset the hard floors, providing softness and room acoustics as well as gently filtering the daylight when required.
Casa Bottega, Valletta, Malta

From the outset, when Malta based architect Chris Briffa set about designing his own home, it was a labour of love. Transforming this 17th century house from top to bottom, and then adding a penthouse home extension, was never going to be without it’s challenges! After 5 years the transformation was complete with the lower part of the building containing the practice studio and offices with the penthouse as home.The old versus the new cannot fail to draw breath. The expansive living space, despite being built in concrete, manages to flood with light and feel playful and liberating. Fitted with Silent Gliss Metropole curtain track systems SG 6130M and Venetian blind systems SG 8910, daylight is welcomed and managed at the same time!
Close House, Private home, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK

Close House, is a listed former mansion house set in the grounds of a luxury golf club in Newcastle upon Tyne. Since 2000 it operated as a hotel and wedding venue before being transformed into a family home.This project focused on the Garden Room. Attention to detail was imperative with the challenge to install the blinds as discreetly as possible. Recess and custom coloured profiles were specified to enable the skylight systems SG 2195 to fit close to the walls and minimise light ingress. Colorama 2 fabric was selected as the wide colour range allowed a fabric to be chosen that could bend in seamlessly with the interior decor.The electric side window and doors were fitted with motorised roller blinds and are operated by the Silent Gliss remote control system. They were installed in a recessed channel up above the ceiling level to ensure the blinds were hidden when not in use.Photos:Andrew Hepinstall

Collie Beag is a bespoke family home built in a small woodland in Cambridgeshire. The challenge for the architect was to create a contemporary home that fitted into the natural landscape, and that gave a constant visual connection to the outside.The resulting design included plenty of floor-to-ceiling glazing which in turn required shading solutions! Wave curtains were an obvious choice, their clean lines bended perfectly with the ribbed timber external cladding. Fabric Colorama 1, combined with subtle lighting gave warmth and privacy in the evenings, and the neat Wave stack-back ensured the view was maximised during the day. Dana Petroleum is an oil and gas company and the project was to refurbish their UK offices in Aberdeen. The multiple floors in this office block required blinds coordinated to specific colour themes. Silent Gliss SG 4910 were specified - 233 blinds installed, some with a screen fabric, some with a blackout option. This was achieved by installing double systems with the blackout blind to the back of the window.

Gifu Media Cosmos is a community center and library located in Gifu, central Japan.The structure and its interior was designed by architect Toyo Ito and is characterized by an undulating latticed wooden ceiling. Numerous curved globes act and look like giant lamp shades as they filter natural sunlight into the space while also defining the circular “knowledge hubs” they encapsulate. Hotel K5, Tokyo, Japan

K5 Tokyo is housed in a converted 1920s bank building and presents 20 rooms on four-levels. More than a hotel, K5 emerges full force as a micro-complex of creative eateries, bars and gathering spots, where Swedish-minimalism-meets-Japanese-heritage design.The guestrooms are characterised by the inclusion of a central, translucent 4.5m fabric 'cylinder' rising to the high ceiling. The circular room divider system SG 6103 has a diameter of 3.5m which envelops a freestanding bed with an integrated shelf and desk. The transparent fabric, partially dyed in indigo, is illuminated by a custom-made paper lamp. In all guestrooms, transparent curtains on recessed SG 6243 profiles create a light and bright room ambience with additional dimout curtains for room darkening.

hUBB - Biology Centre, University of Vienna, Austria

A new biology centre has been built in the Sankt Marx district of Vienna's Landstrasse neighbourhood. When planning the biology centre, particular attention was paid to designing a climate-friendly university and research building, which is why the building envelope is particularly energy-efficient. The walls are thermally insulated, the windows are triple-glazed and have a sun protection coating. And for the first time in Vienna, the laboratory exhaust air is used for heat recovery in a research building, saving at least 30 per cent of the heat required compared to a conventional laboratory building.The suspended cubicle track separate the cozy spaces from the rest of the room and provide privacy for students to study. The profiles completely coated in black match perfectly the black ceiling.
Hyatt Place, Zurich Airport The Circle, Switzerland

Hyatt Place Zurich Airport “The Circle” has 300 rooms and is the first hotel of the Hyatt Place brand in Switzerland. It offers access to The Circle Convention Centre, which is one of the largest event centres in Switzerland. The eye-catching feature of the building is the glass façade, which is around 40 metres high and slopes at an angle of up to 19° towards Zurich Airport. Silent Gliss therefore worked with HRS and the architect to develop motorised inclined systems for interior shading. The biggest challenge was to keep the curtain taut and be able to operate it. The day and night curtains can be operated at the touch of a button using two parallel electric curtain tracks SG 5600. Rooms without slanted windows were fitted with SG 6293 hand operated curtain tracks.
La Passion, Sarp Yacht, Antalya, Türkiye

The multi award winning, 46 meter long La Passion offers sophisticated lines and state-of-the-art with well proven systems that are sure to stand the taste of time.The yacht was built by Sarp Yachts, which has founded one of the largest (10,000 m2) and most modern facilities in the Free Zone of Antalya in South Türkiye. It's specifically designed for the new construction and refit of luxury motor and sailing yachts up to 80 m in length.
Lindenhouse, Berlin, Germany

The imposing 'Lindenhouse' in Berlin dates back to the 1910s. Following a modern renovation, the non-profit NGO Berghof Foundation took up residence on the top two floors.The main focus was on shading around the computer workstations. The systems needed to offer a high level of glare protection and contribute to the room acoustics, whilst maintaining an external view. The solution was found in the roller blinds SG 4910, SG 4930 and SG 4840 with Versascreen 5% to manage the solar gain from the south-facing windows.The track bending expertise of Silent Gliss is showcased in The Octagon meeting room. A precision bent, smooth-gliding and quiet SG 6243 hand operated curtain track with classic curtains define the collaborative space.

The architectural concept with a campus character provides for versatile utilisation options for the office space. The five-part building complex consists of five to seven-storey office buildings. The project stands on a very light, almost floating building structure and is characterised by its reflective façade elements. The arrangement of the buildings creates three inner courtyards. The Silent Gliss curtains divide the rooms into various rectangular or trapezoidal areas by means of numerous bends. The bright blue fabric provides a beautiful contrast to the white and light-coloured rooms.

The impressive concrete façade of the Post building in the lively Rochusmarket make it a prominent feature of Vienna's cityscape.The design artfully integrates the 20th century listed post offfice into the new building.A spacious entrance hall separates the offices from the shopping centre, conveying a stunning first impression - complete with motorised SG 5600 curtain tracks. Upstairs is an open plan, flexible workspace furnished with oak wood, deep pile carpets and acoustic furniture, complemented by Silent Gliss curtains. Sevenoaks School is a leading independent school located in Kent, England. The new Science and Technology Centre is one of the most sophisticated, high-specification education buildings in the UK. The interior is designed to encourage curiosity and collaboration among young scientists.Silent Gliss blinds were layered in the laboratories using roller blinds SG 4910 with Aluscreen Futura fabric to provide glare protection in daylight, and dim-out system SG 4740 for room darkening. To blend harmoniously with the surroundings, the profiles are colour matched to the window frames. The social and study areas are fitted with hand-operated curtain tracks SG 6840 with Wave for a softer room ambience. The end result is an aesthetically stunning, award-winning education facility which has achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating.

St Vincent’s Hospital, Dinslaken, Germany

The new build for the Medical Centre complements the outpatient treatment offer at St. Vincent's Hospital Dinslaken. The technical requirements are particularly complex inside the facility. The dominant colour is a vibrant yellow, which together with the sliding doors and privacy curtains creates a warm atmosphere.All of the routes within the treatment wing were reorganised to ensure an ideal layout. Cosy, cafe-style easy chairs nurture a relaxed atmosphere, and hence contribute to an almost homely overall feel on the corridors of the ward. For the panel glides, system SG 2700 was installed.This project took a holistic design concept with aesthetically pleasing and stringent material selection that takes its inspiration from residential and hotel buildings. Even the floors were designed with a wood-look vinyl in the patient treatment rooms. The consistently light-coloured material selection is interspersed with colourful highlights in the furniture, wall panelling, and in the Wave curtains.

For more than 125 years, the Marianist School has been associated with the city of San Sebastián. The 18,000 m² new building is just as forward-looking as the school's teaching methods. The ultra-modern, functional, and sustainable building is flooded with light making effective interior shading essential.SG 5100 motorised curtain systems are installed in all classrooms for control at the touch of a button. The transparent Colorama 1 fabric Wave curtains create a harmonius appearance both inside and out.
