The R51 Fire-Rated Metal Riser Door is a premium steel access panel specifically designed for shaft wall constructions, providing secure access to concealed building services while maintaining the fire integrity of compartment walls. Suitable for residential, commercial and public sector buildings, the panel is independently tested to provide up to 2 hours (120 minutes) fire resistance and ambient smoke control, making it ideal for service risers, utility cupboards and protected shafts.

Manufactured from 1.2 mm Zintec steel with a robust 1.5 mm steel frame, the R51 range features a 25 mm picture frame for a neat architectural finish. The panel is supplied with a spring pin hinge system and a three-point locking mechanism with bright zinc-plated mild steel components as standard, providing secure and reliable operation. The door and frame are finished in a durable RAL 9010 (30% gloss) polyester powder coating, with alternative RAL colours available on request.

The R51 range has been independently tested in accordance with BS EN 1634-1:2014+A1:2018, providing up to 120 minutes fire integrity (E) from both faces in wall applications. Ambient smoke control has also been tested to BS EN 1634-3:2004, making the panel suitable for applications where both fire compartmentation and smoke performance are required.

The panel is suitable for installation within shaft wall systems, plasterboard-clad timber or steel stud partitions, masonry and concrete walls. It has been tested for use in Knauf Shaftwall systems and other approved flexible and rigid wall constructions in accordance with the relevant fire test evidence.

Ideal for providing secure access to concealed mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services including pipework, valves, ductwork, electrical installations and cabling while maintaining the fire performance of the wall construction.
