Application

Product Application – The Goat® Flexible Waterproof Coating

General

Apply in accordance with manufacturer’s written instructions to form a continuous, seamless and flexible waterproof membrane.

The coating becomes waterproof within approximately 60 seconds of application, providing immediate resistance to water exposure during installation.

Substrate Preparation

Substrates shall be:

Structurally sound and stable
Clean and free from dust, grease, laitance or loose material
Free from standing water

Although the product may be applied to damp substrates, surfaces must not have active flowing water at the time of installation.

Defects, cracks or loose areas shall be repaired prior to application.

Application Method

Ready to use – do not dilute
Stir thoroughly prior to application
Apply by roller or paint brush
Work evenly to achieve full, uniform coverage
Ensure complete encapsulation at junctions, penetrations and upstands

Apply sufficient material to form a continuous, pinhole-free membrane.

Detailing

Particular care shall be taken at:

Internal and external corners
Roof upstands and parapets
Drain outlets
Service penetrations
Construction joints

All detailing areas must be fully coated to maintain waterproof continuity.

Curing and Performance

The membrane provides:

Rapid waterproof protection (within 60 seconds)
Seamless waterproofing
Crack-bridging flexibility
UV resistance
Resistance to positive and negative water pressure

Allow full cure before subjecting to heavy traffic or overlay finishes where specified.

Description

The GOAT Flexible Waterproof Coating is Intelligent Membranes' liquid-applied reactive polymer membrane for fast, reliable waterproofing of roofs, balconies, basements and foundations. Unlike conventional roof coatings that require dry conditions and temperatures above +5C, The GOAT can be applied to damp substrates at temperatures from 0C and becomes waterproof within approximately 60 seconds of application - significantly reducing weather-related risk on site.

The GOAT is solvent-free and VOC-free, forming a seamless, joint-free membrane that cures to a flexible, crack-bridging barrier resistant to both positive and negative water pressure. It can be left exposed and is UV resistant, making it suitable for inverted roof build-ups as well as traditional flat roof and detail applications. Coverage rate is 2kg per m2. Available in 18kg containers (roller or brush grade) in Black, White or Grey.

ETA certified, the product adheres to concrete blocks, bricks and poured concrete, plastics including PP, PE and PVC-U, and roofing insulation boards including PUR, PIR, XPS and EPS. Applications include new build flat roofs, refurbishment overlays without strip-out, balconies, basement waterproofing, parapet upstands, service penetrations and complex detailing zones.
