PRESSURE SENSITIVE VINYL ADHESIVE For use with vinyl floorcoverings and installing skirting, coving and capping
Holding the trowel at an angle of 60°, spread the adhesive evenly over the subfloor. Allow the adhesive to dry to a tacky film before installing the flooring.
Following the floorcovering manufacturer’s laying instructions, lay the floorcovering into the adhesive and press from the centre outwards to exclude air and ensure overall contact with the adhesive. Roll with a 68kg flooring roller from end-to-end and side-to-side. Re-roll as necessary to ensure overall contact is maintained.
Note: The drying time of the adhesive will be extended at lower temperatures. A fan will
reduce the drying time considerably. Care should be taken not to contaminate the drying adhesive film with building dust or debris as this can affect adhesion properties and mirror through the finished floorcovering.
STYCCOBOND F49 HYBRID PS is a temperature tolerant, water-based pressure sensitive adhesive that can be used for installing:
• Vinyl floorcoverings
• Skirting, coving and capping
• PVC edgings
• PVC backed textile floor and wall coverings
It is designed for use in conservatories, areas where floor to ceiling windows are installed and other areas where floorcoverings have to be tolerant of extreme temperature variations. It gives a strong initial tack and high bond strength.
The mixing of the two unique components maximises the high strength of the adhesive and makes it suitable for use in service conditions where temperatures can fluctuate between -20ºC and +60ºC, in accordance with floorcovering manufacturers’ recommendations. It is protected against bio-degradation and is suitable for use over normal underfloor heating systems.
STYCCOBOND F49 HYBRID PS provides an extremely strong water resistant bond enabling application in areas subject to water/high humidity when used in conjunction with a suitable STOPGAP smoothing compound.
Outstanding plasticiser resistance ensures STYCCOBOND F49 HYBRID PS can be used for securing highly plasticised flooring accessories and trims. The high final bond strength
ensures optimum dimensional stability throughout the lifetime of the installation.
STYCCOBOND F49 HYBRID PS can be used for securing a wide range of PVC floorcoverings in both tile and sheet format. When installing sheet floorcoverings, install while the adhesive is wet; the subfloor must be absorbent to allow drying of the adhesive. See the F. Ball Recommended Adhesives Guide for details of specific floorcoverings.
It can be applied to structually sound, smooth, dry subfloors of concrete and sand/cement screed, calcium sulphate, STOPGAP smoothing compounds and plywood. Sound flooring grade asphalt must be skimmed with a minimum of 3mm and a maximum 6mm of the appropriate
STOPGAP smoothing compound.
STYCCOBOND F49 HYBRID PS can be applied directly to STOPGAP epoxy waterproof surface membranes and other non-absorbent subfloors where the surface finish is smooth enough to permit the installation of resilient floorcoverings. On non-absorbent surfaces the adhesive should be allowed to dry to a clear, tacky consistency before installing the floorcovering. For details on other subfloors contact our Technical Service Department.
