Pre‑finished lamella stone wool insulation board for use as a core in architectural doors, curtain walling and volumetric systems, providing rigidity with fire, thermal and acoustic performance.
Siderise Nexus Core provides a non-combustible stone wool insulation core for composite structures such as architectural panels and doors.
Siderise Nexus Core provides a cost-effective pre-finished rigid core to be used wherever thermal, fire, and acoustic insulation is required within a bonded composite structure.
Siderise Nexus Core boards are manufactured from stone wool slabs formulated to a Siderise specification and classified as Euroclass A1. The A1 classification applies to the primary stone wool core only and does not extend to any foil or mesh layers added during final assembly.
Stone wool is produced from molten volcanic rock and provides fire resistance, acoustic performance and thermal insulation.
The Nexus process involves cutting the stone wool into strips and rotating them through 90 degrees so the fibres are oriented perpendicular to the board surface. The strips are laterally compressed to form a homogeneous board with increased rigidity compared with a standard stone wool slab of equivalent density.
During compression, an open filament net facing is applied to maintain compression and assist handling. The board should be bonded on the net‑faced side using compatible adhesives.

Sound insulation rating | Manufacturer's standard. Guidance for specification option: The acoustic performance is system-specific and is heavily influenced both by the materials used and the way they are assembled. The acoustic performance of a given panel using Nexus Core depends primarily on the surface mass of the panel linings and the depth of the cavity. Consult manufacturer for details. |
