Application

Designed to provide discreet inspection and maintenance access to concealed building services within plasterboard walls and ceilings. The plasterboard-faced door and 25 mm beaded frame are designed to accept tape and jointing or a skim coat plaster finish, creating a seamless, flush appearance that blends with surrounding surfaces.

The FlipFix Plasterboard Access Panel is a dual-purpose access panel designed to provide discreet inspection and maintenance access to concealed building services within plasterboard walls and ceilings. Featuring a plasterboard-faced door and a 25 mm beaded frame, the panel is designed to accept tape and jointing or a skim coat plaster finish, creating a seamless appearance that blends with the surrounding surface.

The panel incorporates the patented FlipFix fixing device, enabling fast installation directly into plasterboard without the need for additional timber framing, making it ideal for both new-build and refurbishment projects. A budget lock is supplied as standard, with a range of alternative locking options available to suit project requirements.

Manufactured from high-quality steel, the frame is finished in a durable RAL 9010 (30% gloss) polyester powder coating as standard, with bespoke RAL colours available on request.

The FlipFix range is available in non-fire-rated and 1-hour fire-rated configurations, providing a versatile solution for accessing concealed mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services while maintaining a flush plasterboard finish.

Installation

Designed for installation into plasterboard wall and ceiling systems to provide access to concealed building services.

Cut the structural opening to suit the specified panel size.
Insert the panel and secure directly to the plasterboard using the patented FlipFix fixing device without additional timber framing.
Install before applying tape and jointing compound or skim coat plaster.
Finish over the beaded frame and plasterboard-faced door to create a flush, concealed appearance.
For fire-rated models, install in accordance with the manufacturer's fire test evidence and installation instructions.
