Description

Passive Purple Brush is Intelligent Membranes' fibre-reinforced, brush-applied airtight vapour control membrane - the detail product in the Passive Purple system. While Passive Purple (roller-applied) covers the field area, Passive Purple Brush is used at every junction, joint, penetration and interface where a roller cannot reach or where additional reinforcement and gap-bridging is needed.

BBA certified (Certificate 22/6002), Passivhaus certified, ICC tested and M1 Class, Passive Purple Brush holds the full suite of certifications that architects, building control and SAP assessors require. It bridges gaps up to 5mm, achieves elongation of 45% to move with the building, and bonds to concrete, brick, timber and all common construction substrates. Coverage is 1kg/m2 at the standard application thickness.

Supplied in 3.7kg and 6.9kg tubs. Once cured, the membrane can be plastered, painted or rendered over directly - no primer or special preparation needed for the overcoat. This makes it the preferred choice for specifiers who want a clean, fast airtight detail that integrates naturally into the finishing programme.

Typical applications include wall-to-floor and wall-to-ceiling junctions, around window and door frames, joist ends, service penetrations for pipes and cables, and all substrate transitions where cracking or differential movement might otherwise compromise the airtight layer.
