The R57 Metal Riser Door is a steel access panel designed to provide secure and durable access to concealed building services within plasterboard and masonry wall systems. Suitable for residential, commercial and public sector buildings, it provides convenient access for the inspection and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services while delivering a clean, flush architectural finish.

The panel features a 25 mm beaded frame, allowing the frame to be skim coated for seamless integration with plastered wall finishes. Incorporating the RapidFit® hinge system, the R57 range enables fast, single-person installation, reducing installation time while maintaining a secure and accurate fit. A three-point locking mechanism is supplied as standard to provide reliable security, with alternative locking options available to suit project requirements.

Manufactured from high-quality steel, the panel is finished in a durable RAL 9010 (30% gloss) polyester powder coating as standard, with alternative RAL colours and bespoke sizes available on request.

The R57 range is available in non-fire-rated, acoustic and airtight configurations to meet a variety of project performance requirements. Acoustic variants achieve up to 33 dB sound reduction when tested in accordance with BS EN ISO 10140-2, while airtight versions achieve Class 2 air permeability and have been smoke tested in accordance with BS EN 1634-3.

Ideal for providing access to concealed pipework, valves, ductwork, electrical services, cabling and control equipment within service risers, utility cupboards and partition walls.

Installation

Designed for installation into plasterboard partition walls, masonry walls and service risers to provide secure access to concealed building services.

• Prepare the structural opening in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions.
• Install the frame before applying the final skim coat to achieve a flush plaster finish.
• Secure using suitable mechanical fixings appropriate to the wall construction.
• For acoustic and airtight variants, install in accordance with the manufacturer's guidance to achieve the specified performance.
