The FlipFix Metal Access Panel is a steel access panel designed to provide secure and convenient access to concealed building services within plasterboard walls and ceilings. Suitable for residential, commercial and public sector buildings, it provides a practical solution for the inspection and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services, including electrical wiring, pipework, valves, ductwork and HVAC systems.

The panel incorporates the patented FlipFix fixing device, enabling rapid installation directly into plasterboard without the need for additional timber framing, making it ideal for both new-build and refurbishment projects. Manufactured from high-quality Zintec steel, the panel features a 25 mm picture frame with a metal-faced door and is supplied with a flush budget lock as standard for a clean, architectural appearance. Alternative locking options are available to suit project requirements.

Finished in a durable RAL 9010 (30% gloss) polyester powder coating as standard, the FlipFix range is available in standard sizes from 150 × 150 mm to 1200 × 600 mm, with bespoke sizes and alternative RAL colours available on request.

Available in non-fire-rated and fire-rated configurations offering up to 120 minutes fire resistance, the FlipFix Metal Access Panel provides a reliable and versatile access solution for a wide range of wall and ceiling applications.

Installation

Designed for installation into plasterboard wall and ceiling systems to provide access to concealed building services.

Prepare the structural opening in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions.
Insert the panel and secure directly to the plasterboard using the patented FlipFix fixing device.
Ensure the frame is installed square and level before completing surrounding finishes.
For fire-rated models, install in accordance with the manufacturer's fire test evidence and installation guidance.
