Folding Bike Locker

The Folding Bike Locker is a British-made, space-efficient cycle locker designed specifically for folding bicycles — including Brompton-style bikes, within BSC's broader bike lockers range. Providing three secure compartments per unit for bikes, helmets, locks, and small accessories, it delivers individual, enclosed storage in a reduced footprint that makes it particularly suited to schemes where space is constrained but the security and convenience expectations of folding bike users must still be met.

Construction and Security

Each unit is manufactured from heavy-duty steel with tamper-resistant hinges and a durable powder-coated finish, available in a wide range of RAL colours. The robust steel body provides a secure, fully enclosed environment that protects folding bikes from theft and environmental exposure, a meaningful upgrade over open racks or communal shelters in environments where high-value folding bikes are stored throughout the working day. The steel construction is galvanised for corrosion resistance, ensuring durability and weatherproofing in both indoor and outdoor installation environments.

Three compartments are provided per unit, each sized to accommodate a standard folding bicycle in its folded state alongside a helmet, lock, and small bag. This multi-use storage capability is particularly valued by folding bike commuters who arrive at their destination with cycling accessories that need organised, secure storage during the day.

Perforated Doors and Ventilation

Locker doors are perforated throughout, serving two functions: promoting airflow within each compartment to prevent moisture build-up and odour accumulation, and allowing facility managers to visually identify available compartments without opening each unit individually. The perforated design also contributes to a lighter, more contemporary aesthetic compared to solid-door alternatives, a consideration in schemes where the locker bank forms a visible feature of the bike store or end-of-trip facility.

Locking Options

A comprehensive range of locking systems is available to suit the access management requirements of the project. Options include padlock cam locks, key cam locks, mechanical digital keypad locks, and RFID systems compatible with building management infrastructure. Optional compartment numbering supports facility management in larger installations where multiple units are deployed across a single bike store. This flexibility makes the Folding Bike Locker appropriate for both self-managed residential facilities and managed workplace or transport hub environments where keyless or auditable access is preferred.

Modular Configuration

The modular format allows multiple Folding Bike Locker units to be installed side by side to create a locker bank scaled to the number of folding bike users on the site. Each unit's reduced footprint compared to a full-size bike locker means that a higher number of individual storage compartments can be accommodated within a given floor area, making it an efficient specification for schemes where a combination of folding bike provision and standard cycle storage is required within the same bike room. It integrates naturally alongside end-of-trip facilities including clothing lockers and changing facilities on workplace schemes where folding bike commuting is actively supported.
